Chapter 170 - Chapter 170: Fusion

Chapter 170: Fusion

Refining the Myriad Beast Spiritual Flame turned out to be relatively easy for Xiao Yan. After all, even though this flame was potent, it only ranked 22nd on the Heavenly Flames Ranking.

The moment the colorful serpent shaped flame entered Xiao Yan's body, two miniature dragons, one black and one white, emerged to confront it. These were the dual manifestations of the Yin Yang Sacred Flame.

As soon as the Myriad Beast Flame saw the Yin Yang Sacred Flame, it swelled in size, causing a sharp pain in Xiao Yan's meridians. But after sensing the overwhelming power of the black and white flames, the colorful serpent panicked and tried to escape.

Unfortunately for it, the Myriad Beast Flame wasn't particularly dominant among the Heavenly Flames. Its consciousness had already been weakened by the suppression of the first Medusa, and now, surrounded by Xiao Yan's formidable spiritual power and trapped by two aggressive flames, its fate was sealed.

In less than three minutes, the Myriad Beast Flame was subdued. The black and white flames wrapped around it like two seasoned thugs overpowering a newcomer.

With a thought, Xiao Yan transformed the twin dragons into chains, binding the colorful serpent tightly. Now it was time to erase the flame's consciousness.

Despite being ranked low on the Heavenly Flames list, the Myriad Beast Flame had been nurtured by countless beast auras, making its sentience remarkably strong far surpassing that of the Green Lotus Core Flame or Sea Heart Flame.

But no matter how strong its spirit, it was no match for Xiao Yan's prowess. With another command, the black and white fire dragons resumed their relentless attack, crushing the serpent's resistance.

For three days and nights, the Myriad Beast Flame's consciousness was pummeled without mercy. Its spiritual protests faded into silence until the once defiant serpent lay motionless within Xiao Yan's body, completely subdued.

"Trying to resist me, huh? Foolish little flame." Xiao Yan smirked, satisfied.

He directed his vast spiritual energy to wrap around the flame, guiding it through his meridians in accordance with the Flame Mantra. Now that its consciousness had been shattered, refining the Myriad Beast Flame was a straightforward task.

Over the next three days, the flame's energy fully merged with Xiao Yan's body. When the final step was completed, Xiao Yan opened his eyes, his face alight with satisfaction.

He raised his hand, and a seven colored flame flickered into existence at his fingertip. Its vibrant hues were mesmerizing, giving Xiao Yan an aura of both mystery and power.

"Even if I don't use its full strength, the look of this flame is enough to impress anyone." Xiao Yan couldn't help but chuckle. The flamboyant nature of the flame suited his penchant for showing off.

Glancing at the nearby seven colored cocoon encasing Medusa, Xiao Yan's eyes revealed a hint of anticipation.

"You've already refined it?" A voice of surprise rang out. The first Medusa, observing from a distance, stepped forward with curiosity etched across her aged face.

Refining a Heavenly Flame wasn't supposed to be so simple. Yet Xiao Yan had done it in only six days.

"Of course. For someone as talented as me, isn't that expected?" Xiao Yan grinned smugly.

"Hmm." The first Medusa chuckled dryly, though inwardly, she was impressed. Even in her prime as a Dou Zun, refining the Myriad Beast Flame had taken her ten full days. This boy had managed it in nearly half the time.

Ignoring her dubious laughter, Xiao Yan stretched briefly before closing his eyes again. There was still one crucial step he needed to take: fusing his two Heavenly Flames.

The Flame Mantra had already shown him its incredible potential, but he hadn't yet experienced the terrifying power of combining two Heavenly Flames within his body.

The process was fraught with danger. Even Dou Zun level experts risked severe injury or death if the fusion process went wrong. However, success would yield immense rewards, significantly enhancing his strength and pushing the Flame Mantra into Earth Tier.

Failure, though, would destroy his body completely. While the Xiao Clan had ways to revive him, the loss of his original body would compromise his foundation forever.

For Xiao Yan, this step was like walking a tightrope over a bottomless abyss.

"What's that boy doing now?" The first Medusa frowned slightly as she saw Xiao Yan sit back down and close his eyes.

Her confusion turned to shock when a black and white flame emerged from Xiao Yan's body.

"Another Heavenly Flame?!" she exclaimed.

Heavenly Flames were rare treasures, and refining even one was a monumental achievement. Yet this boy possessed two.

Unaware of her astonishment, Xiao Yan focused inwardly. The Yin Yang Sacred Flame and the newly refined Myriad Beast Flame hovered within his body, separated by a thin barrier of Dou Qi.

The Yin Yang Sacred Flame, manifesting as a black and white dragon, glared fiercely at the colorful serpent of the Myriad Beast Flame. Meanwhile, the serpent, though battered, still attempted to provoke its opponent.

"Don't you two start a fight!" Xiao Yan muttered anxiously, his heart pounding as he dispelled the thin Dou Qi barrier.

The moment the barrier disappeared, the Myriad Beast Flame tried to flee. But the Yin Yang Sacred Flame pounced, locking the serpent in a fiery grapple.

A violent explosion of energy erupted within Xiao Yan's body. He coughed up a mouthful of blood but quickly stabilized himself, injecting streams of Flame Mantra energy to mediate between the warring flames.

Under the influence of the Flame Mantra, the two flames gradually calmed. Though far from merging, they at least ceased their destructive conflict.

The fusion process dragged on for days. By the seventh day, the once hostile flames began to intermingle like two pools of molten metal. Though not yet fully fused, signs of compatibility emerged.

Xiao Yan remained patient, using his spiritual energy to guide the delicate balance between the flames.

A month later, the transformation was complete. Within his Dou Qi cyclones, two fish like entities swam in harmony black and white bodies adorned with faint seven colored scales.

Though the fusion wasn't perfect, Xiao Yan had taken the first step toward wielding their combined power.

"Not bad," he murmured, a faint smile playing on his lips. The next step would be mastering this newfound strength.
