Chapter 181: The Gradual Fusion of Martial Souls

"Evil Assault!" Immediately, dark energy surged and gathered upon the Evil Blade as Luo Ling charged fiercely toward Snake Lance Douluo.

The original Angel Strike from the Six-Winged Angel had now transformed into this Evil Assault, completely altering its nature.

The terrifying evil energy instantly increased Snake Lance Douluo's pressure. The extreme evil attribute brought with it an extreme corrosive effect.

Slowly, Snake Lance Douluo began to fall into disadvantage.

Watching nearby, Blood Thorn Douluo could hardly believe his eyes.

Luo Ling and Qian Renxue were both only at the Soul Emperor level, yet their Martial Soul Fusion Technique allowed them to fight evenly with a Titled Douluo. It was unbelievable.

"Evil God's Roar!" Luo Ling opened his mouth, unleashing a piercing, banshee-like scream that echoed through the skies.

Snake Lance Douluo's body froze midair and plummeted from the sky.

That roar shook his mind and nearly scattered his soul. A nameless horror stirred within his heart, leaving him paralyzed for several seconds.

When he finally came to his senses and looked up, the jet-black Evil Blade was already pressed against his throat.

Snake Lance Douluo stood motionless, then gave a bitter smile.

"I've lost."

The angel withdrew the blade, and Luo Ling said nothing more.

The Fallen Angel born from their fusion was extraordinarily powerful. Without even using his own soul skills, Luo Ling had defeated a Titled Douluo.

If he used his abilities, he was confident he could fight—and win—against both Snake Lance Douluo and Blood Thorn Douluo at once.

He smiled faintly and dissolved the fusion state.

The black mist of evil energy enveloped the angel, and the next moment, Luo Ling and Qian Renxue reappeared.

Qian Renxue remained in Luo Ling's arms, stunned and momentarily confused.

Both Snake Lance and Blood Thorn Douluo looked at them oddly, amusement flickering in their eyes.

Realizing their stares, Qian Renxue quickly pulled away from Luo Ling, glaring at him in irritation.

She still hadn't forgotten his earlier antics with the angel's body.

"It seems our Martial Soul Fusion Technique is perfect," Luo Ling said with a relaxed smile, completely ignoring her frustration.

"Hmph!" Qian Renxue snorted softly but didn't argue.

After all, their fusion form was indeed capable of contending with a Titled Douluo—that was undeniable.

Snake Lance Douluo and Blood Thorn Douluo exchanged knowing looks. Luo Ling and Qian Renxue's fusion technique was of immense significance. They would have to report this to the Pope and the Grand Priest.

If soul masters at the Soul Emperor stage could already match a Titled Douluo, just how powerful would they become once both reached that same rank? It was almost unimaginable.

While Luo Ling and Qian Renxue's bond deepened, Tang San began the Blood Demon Ritual.

The corpses retrieved from the Wuhun Hall prison were fewer than those from the royal prison, as the sudden appearances of guards had forced Flender and Zhao Wuji to retreat early.

However, although fewer in number, the quality of the corpses was significantly higher—most had been strong spirit masters, the weakest among them a Spirit King, and even one had been a Soul Emperor.

Tang San's heart pounded with impatience. Gazing at the bodies before him, he licked his lips with anticipation.

He was already level 47, close to 48. By absorbing these, reaching level 50 would be no problem—and then he could hunt for his next spirit rings.

Not just for his Blue Silver Grass, but also for his Clear Sky Hammer.

Once everything was ready, Tang San stepped into the center of the ritual circle, and the ceremony began.

Meanwhile, Luo Ling had just parted ways with Qian Renxue and was walking down the streets of Heaven Dou City. Suddenly, he felt a tremendous surge of energy erupt within his body.

His expression changed; he swiftly entered a nearby inn, rented a room, and locked himself inside.

Sitting cross-legged, he began to control and refine the rapidly surging energy within him.

Previously, since he hadn't obtained spirit rings, much of his energy had been absorbed by his martial souls. But now, even after reaching the Soul Emperor level, he realized a great portion was still being devoured by his martial spirits.

The Crow Shadow Puppet manifested behind him, silently merging into his body.

The Soul of Desire glimmered in his eyes, glowing red.

All twelve spirit rings began to fuse once again.

This time, however, it was unlike the previous self-fusion technique. Luo Ling could clearly sense that this was a complete, fundamental transformation.

The Crow Shadow Puppet and the Soul of Desire were truly merging—evolving toward a single martial soul.

As energy continued to pour through him, the degree of their fusion deepened steadily.

Midway through, the energy was fully consumed.

Luo Ling opened his eyes, disbelief flickering within them.

The Crow Shadow Puppet and the Soul of Desire had nearly fused completely.

From now on, his martial souls were no longer separate—they had become one.

There would be no need for Martial Soul Fusion Techniques anymore; the two spirits had permanently integrated.

Six glowing spirit rings rose beneath him—purple, purple, black, black, black, and red—spinning as one.

His spirit rings had merged entirely, inseparable forevermore.

This meant all of Luo Ling's existing abilities would automatically transform into enhanced versions of their fusion state.

His spirit power surged, reaching the level of a Soul Saint. His rank had risen by two—to level 64.

A faint smile crossed his face. At this rate, his martial spirit would soon evolve into a fully unified form, and future rings from both spirits would merge automatically.

"Tang San… I really ought to thank you," Luo Ling murmured with satisfaction, stretching his neck.

Tang San, of course, had no idea his ritual had indirectly benefited Luo Ling tremendously.

In a mountain cave elsewhere, Tang San had just completed his sacrifice.

Since he lacked a fifth spirit ring, the excess energy from his advancement flowed straight into Luo Ling.

Tang San had gained three levels, while Luo Ling had gained two.

The energy needed between a Soul King and a Soul Emperor differed enormously—effectively, Tang San had done a great favor for Luo Ling without realizing it.

"Teacher! I've reached level 50!" Tang San exclaimed joyfully, rising from the ground.

Flender and Zhao Wuji looked on enviously.

A three-level increase in one go—something that would take most people years to achieve.

The Heaven Dou royal city truly lived up to its name; the prisoners locked in Wuhun Hall were far stronger than those anywhere else.

"Excellent," Yu Xiaogang nodded seriously, then said sternly, "Tang San, you know why we've given you all of the sacrificial energy. We expect you to shine in the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Tournament finals! Do not disappoint us!"

"Teacher, don't worry!" Tang San replied firmly. "Once I equip my Clear Sky Hammer with five ten-thousand-year rings, Luo Ling will be no match for me. I'll make sure Shrek Academy wins the championship!"
