Dorothy's POV
The wildflowers Joseph brought me sit beside the bed, their vibrant petals catching the morning light. I've never received flowers before, and something about this simple gesture makes warmth spread through my chest. Perhaps it's because I know how much effort it took for him to think of something so thoughtful, or maybe it's because he actually listened when I told him about my education.
I'm genuinely shocked that he stopped the process of erasing my academic records. Part of me expected him to bulldoze right through my concerns, doing whatever he deemed necessary because he's an Alpha and thinks he knows what's best. Instead, he recognized how important my degree is to me and made sure to preserve it.
