"Daddy! This Mister brought me to you!" Benjamin said proudly, pointing at me with his small finger. His face was beaming, his earlier anxiety completely forgotten in the joy of reunion.
I smiled warmly and looked back at the father and son, my heart swelling at the sight of them together. The bond between them was palpable, a connection that had survived even the darkest of times.
"Hello," I greeted softly. "You must be Benjamin's dad. He had a lot to say about you." I glanced down at the little boy, who was practically vibrating with excitement.
