Him talking about feeling powerless made him seem like just any alpha. Had she forgotten that Kasteil was a person and not a god? Was he too perfect that she had stopped seeing the child she watched grow up as an alpha and started seeing him as a god? The thought unsettled her.
He relaxed, changing the topic. His shoulders dropped slightly, the tension easing.
"Has he spoken about Andrew?" Kasteil said.
"Who is that?" Anna asked. The name was unfamiliar. She had never heard Holland mention it.
"I see he hasn't," Kasteil said, almost to himself.
"I didn't say that," Anna replied quickly. She couldn't spill what a client told her to anyone, not even to the Alpha King. That was the foundation of therapy—trust, confidentiality, safety. Which is why she had replied with that, but Kasteil was smart enough to see through it. Not like she had done a good job hiding it. Her face had given her away.
