We both froze, hearts pounding for an entirely different reason now. The doorbell's echo seemed to hang in the air, sharp and insistent. No one ever came to the Alpha residence unannounced. In all the time I had been living here, I could count on one hand the number of unexpected visitors. This was not normal.
Kasteil's hand stilled, but he didn't pull away. Our eyes met, confused and frustrated. His chest was still heaving, mine was too. The moment had been shattered, but the need was still there, thrumming under my skin.
"Ignore it," he muttered, voice thick with desire and annoyance.
He leaned back down, sucking on my nipple again while his hand resumed its steady strokes. His mouth was relentless, his fingers sure. I moaned, hips twitching despite myself. My body wanted to surrender, wanted to forget the door, forget the world, forget everything but him.
