The next day, Natan opened his shop as usual.
No one would expect that the owner of a comic book store would be one of the richest men on Earth.
Since he came to the Marvel multiverse to settle down, Natan has been quietly making a fortune.
But most of his money is used for donations.
Opening a comic book store in Queens is just a hobby, and money, for him, is only numbers.
Although he thought this way, André knew that money or currency was something important; even in other worlds, money is necessary to provide comfort.
Even though he has a lot of money at hand, he prefers to live a simple life.
But he donates most of his money to help people around the world in secret.
You must be wondering: if he is so powerful, why doesn't he use his powers to solve all the world's problems?
Simple: because he doesn't want to!
It would be too exhausting to solve the problems of people you don't even know.
That's why he donates money so that others can do it for him; to some extent, he is helping indirectly.
The day passed peacefully and soon it was noon.
Realizing that no other customer would show up, Natan closed the shop to go out for lunch.
There's a very good restaurant eight blocks away.
He intends to walk there to stretch his legs a little; that way, he would get some exercise.
But, while walking down the street, pedestrians passed by, cars came and went, and Natan noticed that many pairs of eyes were watching him.
He didn't even need to use his powers to guess who those people were.
"It seems Hydra knows that Nick Fury contacted me yesterday!"
Natan kept his steps light and didn't care about those people; deep down, he even wanted them to cause trouble for him.
His life has been very boring lately.
After arriving at the restaurant, Natan chose a quiet place to sit before picking up the menu and placing his orders.
He didn't even care that the waitress serving him was someone from Hydra.
Natan just wanted to eat his meal in peace and quiet.
...!
On the other side, Steve Rogers had just escaped from SHIELD headquarters and was walking through the hospital corridors where Nick Fury had been taken before dying.
Before leaving for SHIELD headquarters, he hid the flash drive given to him by Nick Fury in the vending machine in the innermost corridor.
He wore a hoodie to hide his face, but as soon as he arrived at the vending machine where he had hidden the flash drive, he discovered it was gone.
His expression changed and he looked at the empty spot for a few seconds, when someone approached and stood behind him.
Through the reflection of the machine, he recognized that it was Natasha Romanoff.
He turned and looked to the other side, while paying attention to his surroundings, and pulled Natasha into a nearby room.
Pushing Natasha against the wall, he whispered in a threatening tone:
"Where is it?"
"Safe!" Natasha whispered back, not caring about his tone.
"And what else?" Steve Rogers asked.
Natasha replied:
"Where did you get it?"
Because the flash drive was exactly the same one she had used to copy the files from the ship's computer during the previous mission.
But Steve Rogers didn't answer and asked another question:
"Why would I tell you that?"
"Fury gave you the flash drive, why?" Natasha asked, doubtful.
"What's on it?" Steve Rogers questioned once again, but Natasha only replied that she didn't know.
Annoyed, he pushed her against the wall once more and growled:
"Stop lying!"
But Natasha wasn't shaken at all and kept looking into his eyes as she answered:
"I only pretend to know everything, Rogers!"
Steve looked at the door to check something and continued saying:
"Did you know Fury hired the pirates?"
Natasha showed a surprised expression before opening her mouth to speak:
"That makes sense, Nick needed to get in, there was dirt on the ship…"
But before she could finish her words, Steve interrupted her:
"I won't ask again."
He needed useful information, and he didn't have much time to waste arguing.
Natasha also understood and said:
"I know who killed Fury!"
Steve's expression changed and he looked at Natasha, waiting for her to continue, and so she did:
"Most espionage groups don't believe he exists; those who do call him the Winter Soldier.
He is responsible for more than twenty assassinations in the last fifty years."
"It's a ghost story!" Steve Rogers found the story absurd. How could someone live that long?
But Natasha told the story of when she encountered the Winter Soldier and even showed the scar he left on her.
That made Steve Rogers believe a little, and he even joked:
"Yeah, you must look terrible at the beach!"
Thus, after a good conversation, the two joined forces to find out what was on the flash drive and who the Winter Soldier was.
And to try to solve the many other problems ahead, but what they didn't know was that the flash drive in their hands was fake.
However, Nick Fury had placed important information to guide both of them to Natan, who was still eating his meal in peace and quiet, while being watched by many pairs of hostile eyes.
