With the sheets hung up to dry. I grabbed a few kerosene heaters to help dry them out. I also turned on the bathroom fan to pull the moisture out of the room. This way I could maximise the drying efficiency.
Since that was done I made my way back upstairs.
Back upstairs I saw Xue Qing looking at her phone, she was locked in and was reaching absolute zero while reading something on her phone.
When I sat down she realized I was here and her atmosphere did a 180. She smiled brightly and said, "Sorry sorry~, I was looking at work."
"Is everything alright?"
"Yeah. Well no, but yeah. It's not something I really have control over so… There's nothing I can do about it."
"Oh ok, well I don't want to pry."
"No, it's ok. Another person, like you, my family wants to work with, did something that's not right. But, there is nothing I can do about it and I can't convince my family not to work with him. Though he probably won't work with them anyway, so no sweat off my back."
"What did he do?"
"Well, you know Alloy Man right?"
"Of course. He is my favorite hero."
"Well he decided to build his house exactly the same as Alloy Man's in the same place. The problem with that is that the house was CGI while the place that the house was put is a Nature Preserve."
"A Nature Preserve? How did he manage to build a house on it?"
"With enough money and power anything is possible. Though I guess I'm not too much better. My data center definitely is not the best for the environment. I do try and do what's right. I pay for all of the expenses and I made sure that the data center is away from any living places.
Sorry, I don't know why I'm telling you all of this. I don't know if it's because I feel, relaxed? Or if it's because of something else. I don't normally act like this."
"It's ok, I'm used to it. For whatever reason people just like to open up to my family. We don't know what it is about us but people like to just tell us about their lives.
This one time my mom and I were out shopping at a home improvement store. The cashier checking us out was an old lady and while checking us out she started telling us about how her grandchild was a part of some event.
I don't remember what it was about, but she kept telling us about it for like five minutes while we kept trying to leave. If it was just the once, then it was just a grandma wanting to talk about her grandchild. But, it happens all of the time.
People will just tell us anything about themselves, whether they are stories, events, or even secrets. People just open up to us."
"Wow, that sounds like a bloodline special power."
"Haha, right? But, I don't think it's anything as mystical as that."
"You never know. Perhaps you do have something about you."
"I doubt it, it happens to my mom the most. She seems to be a magnet for that kind of stuff."
"You must be close with your mom."
"Yeah, I am. She has put up with my whims and encouraged me the most."
"I'm envious. I was never really close to my mom and she passed away a few years ago, so…"
"I'm sorry. Are you ok?"
"Yeah. Gosh, it happened a while ago. You don't need to worry about it. I'm fine. Anyway! Let's get to watching this."
"...Alright. Sure."
With the conversation ending there we got to watching the TV show.

Before I knew it quite a few hours had passed. The sun had set and dinner time had all but passed.
We had been completely enamored by the show that we didn't even notice the time passing. We only noticed how much time had passed when one of the body guards came upstairs.
He asked something in the Xia language so I didn't know what he asked but I paused so she could listen.
After a moment she replied stoically. Once the body guard was gone she stretched. At some point she had removed her blazer and untucked her blouse.
She said languidly, "Well it's gotten late if I want to find a place to stay and get some dinner, I'll have to leave now."
"You don't need to put on the theatrics you and your people can stay here."
"Yay! I knew I could count on you! What will it cost to say?"
"Dinner. The snacks were good but I want a warm meal."
"You're such a romantic! Saying dinner, hehe, you'll make me swoon~."
"Ha, yeah yeah. Joke around all you want, but you better hurry. Most places around here will be closing soon, if they haven't already."
"Hehe, ok~, I'll look around now. Just calm down~."
"You sure have gotten comfortable."
"Hmm~? Yeah, I guess so. Since I don't have to worry about my family or work here, this is the most free I think I have ever felt."
"Have you found anything open?"
"Yeah… a few of the bars are still open and serving food. I have never had bar food before, so I'm kind of looking forward to it."
"It usually is a little salty and greasy. So, how do you feel about that?"
"We will find out."
We went back to watching TV while we waited for the food to be delivered. A while later a body guard brought up the food. They had a short conversation while he was placing the food down.
I decided it was time to download another language. I opened my phone and started downloading the Xia language. One major problem was that Xia was large and had a ton of different dialects. So the language model would be large and incomplete.
Xue Qing asked, "Are you ready to keep watching?"
"Yep."
