Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO-STAYING SILENT

DEAN'CHANGLI

I walked back to the table that housed the major game players in Sh'jestu group.

The day had started off terribly with me having to wake up at an ungodly time to feed Ol'vi, who did not stop crying until the sun rose.

Then her new nanny just had to resume late to work today and give me shit over her salary. She just could not wait till the end of the work day.

"So, we are important to meet with now, Dean'changli'' Char'di says as he sips on whatever is inside his cup. I glanced at all of the men present at the table, cursing Khali inside my head for placing me in this situation.

"You all know you are always important to the group, this meeting was arranged for an emergency reason" I say, meeting each man's gaze with mine.

"The current Chairperson for Sh'jestu group of companies was involved in a fatal accident last week and he is currently in coma" I say, my face void of any emotion.

My father's accident had been orchestrated by my stepbrother, I just do not have any proof to prove this and he was meant to be the one to announce this to the shareholders but at last minute he shrugs it off on me like he does after stirring shit up.

"What are you saying?'' one man said, face pale. "You know the company can't afford this at this critical time!" Char'di says, almost shouting.

"Well I am definitely sure Haf'changli never planned to be involved in a fatal accident" another man says calmly as the other men talked over each other to voice out their complain.

"If the reason you are worried is the JCT global company test, we already informed the MD responsible for our planet we would not be able to take the test this year" I say irritated with the way most of them were behaving.

A person is basically hanging in between life and death and what these people were worried about was a stupid test.

I cleared my throat, bringing the meeting to decorum once more, my gaze locked on my stepbrother as the asshole enters into the little hall.

"Hello, everyone" Khali says as he smirks in my direction.

All my life I have watched him turn more disgustingly slimy like his mother was.

"I propose to be the acting chairperson for Sh'Jestu" my brother says, unbothered by the pin silence as the shareholders all pin him with a glare.

Tired of his stupidity I turn to shut him up with a glare. Instead, the idiot laughs saying "We all know at the end of the day we would need to fill the vacant seat and I am the most suitable person to fill it.

"To be honest if he had the capacity to control and manage the company, I would not have been bothered except the fool does not go a single day without damaging the company's image.

"We would, but not this fast and tactless'' one man says a frown marring his face.

"Yes, we would vote on it but not today" another man says and the remaining men nod in agreement to what he said including Char'di surprisingly.

"well with that gentlemen, I close this meeting" I say itching to see Ol'vi. Even though we just met, I prioritize her well-being over everything else.

Though this morning is a direct contradiction against how I feel, but she would not stop crying even after I fed and changed her.

I was glad when Di'fa, my best friend and assistant told me he had found a live-in nanny.

As I turned to head to the child care center, Khali steps in front of me.

I sighed inwardly. I really was not in the mood for his bullshit today. "Big brother, how do you like the present I left for you?" he asks a sneer taking over his face.

"Do you just feel the urge to spill out bullshit when you are in my presence or you do so to everyone you meet?" I replied him with a question of my own.

"The present was in the hospital last I checked" he said chuckling as he walks towards the door leading out of the hall.

I say nothing as he steps out of the door and zooms off in his hovercar. That bastard would one day kill our father and I would not be shocked about it.

I told my father one day, but he brushed it off as me being jealous of my brother for some reason.

I resumed my walk to the childcare center to usher the nanny and my daughter into the hovercar.

The sight I saw as I entered into the space shocked me into silence.

My darling daughter who for the duration in which she had been in my care screamed bloody murderer once I was not holding her was asleep.

Still shell shocked I motioned for Miss Genvre to follow me to the hovercar waiting outside the building.

"wait, I need to-'' she says but I put a finger on my lips indicating for her to remain quiet.

I ushered them outside, settling miss Genvre into the passenger seat of the hovercar before sliding into the driver's seat and powering up the hovercar into motion.

With a stead rumble of the hovercar's engine, I input our destination and zoom off into the clear air passage.

Once at my loft, I gently slam the door to my side and hurriedly open miss Genvre's to avoid waking Ol'vi up.

I nod a greeting to the loft keeper before entering the elevator.

Miss Genvre openly gawks at the opulence of my building with its elevator made with solid gold and the edges made with silver.

I pressed my key card to open the door to my apartment, the lights turn on automatically as we stepped in.

I immediately knew something was amiss, the room was too still to be normal.
