Boruto stood face to face with Kawaki.
"You shouldn't have come here. You could've lived a little longer, but now you're about to die. I've just absorbed the power of the Divine Tree. I'm the most powerful being on this planet no one, and especially not you, will defeat me."
Kawaki fired a massive shockwave. Boruto avoided the attack by leaping upward. In the blink of an eye, Kawaki appeared in front of his brother, intending to strike, but Boruto easily blocked his blow.
"Even if you managed to absorb the power of the Divine Tree, you still don't stand a chance against me," Boruto said as he slammed Kawaki into the ground.
Before the older Uzumaki could get up, several Boruto clones surrounded him. When Kawaki destroyed one of the blond's clones, another appeared beside him and punched him in the face, sending the teenager flying to the side. Another Boruto clone appeared beneath Kawaki and kicked him in the stomach, launching him into the air. Then the real Boruto grabbed Kawaki by the face and smashed him into the ground.
"How is it possible that even with this power I can't defeat him?" Kawaki wondered angrily.
"Want me to tell you where your problem lies?" Boruto said, standing before Kawaki.
"Shut up!" Kawaki attacked his brother, who dodged the blow.
"Your body still hasn't gotten used to this power, so you can't control it yet."
Kawaki tried to sweep Boruto off his feet, but Boruto jumped and, with a half-spin, kicked his older brother in the face, sending him flying toward the Hokage monument.
"I can't lose. I've come too far to back out now," Kawaki shouted as he shot into the air, extending his hands and forming a chakra sphere that grew larger with every passing moment.
"Idiot, do you want to destroy what little is left of the village?"
"Yes if it means annihilating you."
"Then I have no other choice," Boruto said, bringing his wrists together to form a golden sphere of chakra surrounded by lightning.
Boruto's attack caught Sasuke's attention, as he was still fighting Otsu Naruto.
"What a powerful attack. If Boruto isn't careful, he might destroy more than just the village."
"DIE, BORUTO!"
"GOLDERNO!"
The brothers unleashed their most powerful attacks at each other. When they collided, a massive explosion erupted. Sasuke seized the moment and appeared before Naruto, piercing his heart and destroying his core. Meanwhile, Boruto completely shattered Kawaki's chest with his enhanced Rasengan.
"It's over, Kawaki."
Kawaki regained control. "Good job, brother. I failed."
"Kawaki, you weren't yourself…"
"I know. I probably won't see the Seventh or Hima again I don't deserve that. But before I die, I want to tell you this. Amado turned out to be an Ōtsutsuki. He was behind all of this."
"What?" Boruto was shocked by Kawaki's confession.
"He manipulated me ever since he implanted Karma into me. His real name is Kedar. He currently has a hideout on the Moon… Be careful he's far stronger… And one more thing don't you dare die so quickly…" These were the last words Kawaki spoke before his eyelids closed.
Boruto destroyed the Divine Tree, thereby freeing and saving some of the villagers who had not completed the process of Otsufication.
"It looks like I failed. I really caused you a lot of trouble," Naruto admitted.
"As always, Usuratonkachi."
"Dad…" Boruto approached Naruto, whose body was beginning to crumble.
"But you've grown, my son, and you've surely become stronger. I'm sorry we won't be able to stay with you any longer, but together with your mother, we'll be watching over you from the other side," Naruto said, placing his hand on Boruto's shoulder.
"I…" Boruto didn't know what to say as tears streamed from his eyes.
"I leave the future of Konoha in your hands. It seems my role in this world has come to an end. Farewell," Naruto said, and with those words his body broke apart into tiny fragments.
