Chapter 33 May Parker's Worries
"Whoosh!"
A brilliant Crystal of Faith, like a golden meteor, streaked across the sky and fell into the Lake of Faith in the Inner World.
"Is that the Power of Faith you were talking about?"
Logan murmured, as if asking Lynn, but more like asking himself.
Could he also have something like faith?
"Don't doubt yourself."
Lynn smiled slightly, "Everyone has something they want to pursue, a wish they want to chase."
When these pursuits and wishes require Lynn's help to achieve, and they believe Lynn can help them achieve them, placing their hope in Lynn... the Power of Faith appears.
"Now it's bonus time."
Lynn said lightly, and before Logan could react, he extended a finger and tapped Logan's forehead, planting a Cosmo seed within him.
"What is this?"
Logan stared blankly at Lynn, still not understanding what had happened to him, when Lynn consumed Power of Faith and elevated him to the advanced stage of the Fifth Sense.
The sudden surge of power stunned Logan.
He pointed at Lynn, then at himself, asking incredulously, "This is a bonus?"
He hadn't even done anything yet?
"Are you satisfied?"
Lynn stroked his chin and nodded, saying to Logan, "I believe in you, and you won't disappoint those who trust you."
Logan's eyes flickered, and he grumbled, "You say that as if you know me very well."
Lynn just smiled when he heard that.
The Power of Faith would not be false.
And the connection between him and his believers would certainly not be false.
"Do you want to come out with me? Or continue to stay here?"
Lynn asked, taking out his phone to check the time.
At this hour, Tony should have almost finished the shielding device.
Logan hesitated, then said to Lynn, "I'll stay here for now. I want to rest for a few days and get familiar with the bonus you gave me."
Although he had extensive combat experience, with such a sudden and significant increase in power, he still needed some time to get used to it.
"No problem."
Lynn nodded, took a step, and disappeared from Logan's sight.
After leaving the Inner World, a happy smile appeared on Lynn's face.
Logan becoming his believer went even smoother than expected.
From the moment he met Logan, he had been planning this.
Logan had great potential in combat.
Logan was different from Raven; even if he was only boosted to the advanced stage of the Fifth Sense, his combat power would increase to a terrifying level.
The Fifth Sense combined with his immortal healing ability, and his indestructible Adamantium Claws... just thinking about it, one could feel the terror of Wolverine's plus version.
Moreover, with Logan around, Raven's safety would be guaranteed when she returned to the Sentinel Services' experimental Base to rescue people.
Logan's combat power was not something Raven could compare to.
"Jarvis, has Tony woken up yet?"
"Mr. Stark went to the laboratory five minutes ago."
Jarvis replied in his characteristic metallic voice.
Lynn raised an eyebrow, and just as he was about to head to the laboratory, his phone rang.
"May?"
Lynn answered the phone, looked at the completely dark sky, and asked in confusion, "It's so late, is something wrong?"
"I, well, you..."
May Parker stammered, unsure how to begin.
"May, that's not like you. Just ask whatever you want to ask."
Lynn said with a smile.
Hearing Lynn's relaxed tone, May Parker's anxious heart settled down.
"Well..."
May Parker paused, then blurted out what was on her mind in one breath.
"I went to Manhattan today, and when I passed by our clinic, I found that it had moved and was already renovated, but you didn't tell me when to start work..."
As she spoke, she felt like a deflated ball, losing energy with each word.
She was truly afraid of hearing Lynn say, 'You don't need to come to work anymore.'
Because she still had a nephew to raise, and she really needed this well-paying job.
If she lost this job, within two months at most, she would have to move out of their current apartment with Peter and lose her financial security.
"Oh, that..."
A mischievous smile appeared on Lynn's lips, and he deliberately drew out his words.
Immediately, May Parker's heart tightened again.
"May, you know, after the clinic was destroyed, now is the most difficult time, so..."
"I'm willing to lower my salary."
May Parker quickly interrupted Lynn, afraid that Lynn would say the words she least wanted to hear.
"So, now is when I need you the most."
Lynn finished slowly, then deliberately asked, "What did you just say?"
May Parker was dumbfounded.
"Uh, I mean..."
"Haha!"
Lynn couldn't help but laugh, saying, "Mei, come to work after two days of rest. I still have some things to deal with here."
"Okay!"
May Parker breathed a sigh of relief, saying helplessly, "Doctor Lynn, please don't talk like that again, it's too scary."
"Okay."
Lynn responded, and just as he was about to hang up, May Parker said gratefully, "Doctor Lynn, you saved me that day, and I haven't thanked you yet. I know a good Chinese restaurant. Do you have time tomorrow evening?"
Lynn was about to refuse, but then he changed his mind and said, "Bring Peter along. It's not good to leave him at home alone."
"Okay! I'll send you the address in a bit."
May Parker hung up the phone with a smile.
That's great!
Things weren't as she had imagined!
May Parker hummed a cheerful tune and walked to Peter Parker's bedroom, gently knocking on the door.
"Peter! It's time for bed!"
There was no response from the room, but May Parker was already used to it.
After all, children grow up and need more private space.
But what she didn't know was that there was no one in the room at all, and even the windows were wide open.
Ding!
Lynn looked at the message May Parker sent, noted down the restaurant's location and name, then walked into Tony's laboratory.
Inside the laboratory, Tony was hunched over a workbench, assembling a pile of scattered parts.
Hearing Lynn's footsteps, he lifted his eyelids, then refocused his attention on the workbench.
"Wait a moment, I still need a little more time."
"No rush."
Lynn replied, looking at Tony, who was completely engrossed in his work, with a look of admiration in his eyes.
In his impression, only that yellow sponge could compete with Tony when he was in his work state.
A moment later, Tony tossed a finger-sized black device to Lynn.
"It's done, should be fine."
Lynn put it away and nodded to Tony.
"Thanks."
"Dude, you're thanking me too early. The combat template is already finished."
Tony raised an eyebrow, looking at Lynn excitedly.
"Let me try it."
Lynn was about to agree, but then he suddenly turned his head and looked into the distance.
A believer was in a dangerous situation!
Is it Raven?
He felt the feedback from the Inner World and frowned, "Not now."
"Hmm?"
"I have to go save someone."
