Chapter 130 - Chapter 131: System Warning

[Zabuza Momochi slain. Reward: 1,000 Stat Points, Executioner's Blade!] [Haku slain. Reward: 900 Stat Points!] [Silver Chest triggered!] [Mission complete. Return within 24 hours...]

Before Roy could check his rewards, a group emerged from the forest: Team 7.

Led by Kakashi, they had followed Gato's trail. Naruto stared at Haku's lifeless body. He remembered their encounter in the woods that morning—the gentle voice, the kind face.

"Why did you kill him?!" Naruto screamed, his voice echoing through the forest as he glared at Roy. Kakashi, Sasuke, and Sakura took up defensive positions, eyeing Roy warily.

Roy looked at them. He had essentially "stolen" the kill after Kakashi had weakened Zabuza. "He was Zabuza's accomplice," Roy replied calmly. "The one who used Senbon to fake Zabuza's death and rescue him from you. Remember?"

Kakashi glanced at the body. The build matched. They had been played. "He was indeed Zabuza's partner. Now, who are you?"

The destruction around them—the forest turned to ash—was something no ordinary Fire Release could do. Roy smiled. "Just an adventurer."

Kakashi remained silent, his instinct as a ninja telling him to gather intel. Naruto, however, wasn't done. "Answer me! Why did you have to kill him?!"

Roy frowned. "Why shouldn't I have killed him?"

"He had people he cherished! He had a reason to fight! Why did he have to die?!"

Roy was baffled. Kid, what are you even talking about? Naruto was revving up his "Talk-no-Jutsu," and Roy wanted no part of it. A dark thought crossed his mind—What if I just killed Naruto and Sasuke right here?

The moment that killing intent surfaced, his system panel went into a frenzy.

[WARNING! Your killing intent toward Naruto and Sasuke has caught the attention of the Sage of the Six Paths!] [WARNING! Hagaromo Otsutsuki is watching you!]

Red, bloody warning panels filled his vision. Roy froze. Right. Their dead dad is literally a ghost watching over them. Tough backup.

[Extra Mission Triggered: Slay the Sage of Six Paths! Level 10. Reward: 100,000 Stat Points, God-Tier Chest...]

Roy clicked "NO" so hard the button nearly broke. Hunt a Level 10 ancient god as a Level 3? Are you joking?

"Goodbye!"

Knowing the "Old Man" was watching him, Roy didn't linger. He clicked [Return] and vanished into thin air, leaving a stunned Team 7 behind. Kakashi stared at the spot where Roy had been. Space-time ninjutsu? Where did this monster come from?

Back at the Starry Garden, Roy finally relaxed. Soloing a Level 4 world was a rush. Between Zabuza, Haku, and the Centipede, he had 1,950 Stat Points to spend. He poured them into his physical stats.

Status:

Name: Roy

Level: 3

Strength: 656 → 1023 (SS)

Endurance: 698 → 1009 (SS)

Dexterity: 521 → 1153 (SS)

Agility: 696 → 1336 (SSS)

Magic: 812 (A)

His stats had shattered the known limits for a human. He still felt he hadn't reached his true potential, but for now, it was time to check the loot.Name: Executioner's Blade (Kubikiribōchō)

Grade: High

Description: A massive sword capable of regenerating its blade by absorbing the blood of enemies!

Roy looked at the weapon dropped from Zabuza and shook his head. Of the Seven Ninja Swords of the Mist, he felt this one was the most underwhelming. With the Holy Elven Sword in his possession, he had no use for it; it was destined to collect dust in his storage.

I'll wait until I get an Equipment Fusion device and meld it into something else, he thought. He only valued its self-repairing trait, which would effectively solve any equipment durability issues.

Now, for the main event. Roy rubbed his hands together, excitement flashing in his eyes, and clicked [Open Chest]. A chest shimmering with silver light opened before him.

[Silver Chest opened. Congratulations! You have obtained: Synchrony Contract!]

Name: Synchrony Contract

Grade: Undetermined

Description: Allows the user to sign a contract with one teammate. Once signed, both parties can stack each other's stats, Development Abilities, and skills. Must be signed voluntarily.

Roy's brow furrowed at first, seeing only one item. Had his "European" luck run out? But as he reread the description of the Synchrony Contract, his eyes widened. It wasn't that his luck had failed—he had struck gold. This was a super-premium drop!
