Chapter 86 - Chapter 87: Bombing the City

Roy scanned their papers, getting a clear picture of their growth. Daphne was solid—her Dexterity and Agility were Rank A. Cassandra was heavily specialized in Magic (Rank A) but had several Rank Gs in other areas. However, Cassandra's skills and magic were far more "deluxe" and practical than Daphne's.

Roy's gaze focused on Cassandra's unique skill. The text was blurry, a faint line of words, but he knew its true name: "Princess of the Tragic World."

This skill was a true miracle. It was an undecipherable special skill that even Sacred Text couldn't fully display. It allowed her to see the future through dreams with 100% accuracy. The dreams also contained clues on how to avoid tragic futures, though the contents were often abstract and difficult to interpret.

Furthermore, due to the influence of her "Curse Power," Cassandra's prophetic dreams are believed by no one—not even the gods. During the conflict with the Apollo Familia, she had foreseen the outcome and warned both Apollo and Hyakinthos, yet they completely dismissed her. In this world, those who ignore this great seer rarely meet a good end.

Roy had no intention of being the next victim.

He looked at Cassandra with a bright smile. "How has your sleep been lately? Any dreams?"

Cassandra blinked, startled, and shook her head.

Roy wore a look of mock regret, patting her slender shoulder. "You must make sure to get plenty of sleep. Go ahead and ask the Goddess for money to buy the best bed and pillows available."

"O-Okay... He touched me..." Cassandra stared at the large hand on her shoulder. The heat from his palm felt as though it were searing through her clothes. The physical contact caused steam to practically billow from her head. Nearby, Daphne looked on with a hint of envy; she wanted some concern, too.

Having trained the newcomers, it was time for Roy's own "Instance." His "Great Feat" was already accomplished; now he just needed to grind his stats to their absolute limit to reach Level 3.

Name: Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba)

Difficulty: Level 2 – Level 4

Description: A world where demons have prowled the night for a thousand years. Hunt the targets: The Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji, and his Twelve Kizuki.

[Kill Muzan Kibutsuji: Reward 1,000 Stat Points + Silver Chest!]

[Upper Rank 1, Kokushibo: Reward 650 Stat Points!]

[Upper Rank 3, Akaza: Reward 200 Stat Points!]

Roy and Ryuu appeared outside a mansion, teleported directly in front of their target. It was incredibly convenient; otherwise, Roy had no idea how he would have tracked down Muzan, a man so cowardly he had stayed hidden for four hundred years ever since Yoriichi Tsugikuni nearly killed him.

Muzan sensed them the moment they arrived. A youth stood by the second-floor window, staring coldly down at the two intruders.

"Yo, good evening!" Roy waved cheerfully, looking for all the world like an old friend.

"Who are you?" Muzan asked. He could change his appearance at will and was currently disguised as "Toshikuni," an adopted son of a medicine merchant, searching for a cure to conquer the sun. He didn't know how he had been exposed, but these two were clearly coming for his head.

Under the bright moonlight, Muzan scrutinized their faces. His pupils contracted. "I see. You are the ones who killed Doma." Through the shared vision of his blood within the Upper Ranks, he had seen the images Doma witnessed before his death.

"Do it!" Roy shouted. Both he and Ryuu lunged forward simultaneously, moving like a violent gale.

Muzan remained indifferent. "Nakime!"

Ting!

Just as they closed within thirty meters of the mansion, the sharp, melodic sound of a biwa echoed in their ears. The ground vanished. They were falling into a bizarre, distorted space where lights were dim, buildings were upside down, and gravity felt non-existent.

Roy had briefed Ryuu beforehand, so neither was panicked by the "Infinity Castle." This massive, shifting fortress was controlled by the demon Nakime. It served as the demons' headquarters, and Roy could feel waves of malice directed at them. Hundreds of lesser demons crawled out from the shadows. Ordinarily, they wouldn't be allowed here, but Muzan had summoned them all to eliminate these intruders.

"The sky of the distant forest... the infinite stars in the endless night!"

Surrounded by demons and falling through the air, Roy and Ryuu remained perfectly calm. They began their chants mid-air.

"Come, wandering wind! Traveler flying across the wild... Strike with the brilliance of stars! Luminous Wind!"

They spoke in unison. Mana surged as countless emerald orbs of light materialized, illuminating the dark Infinity Castle. The orbs expanded and detonated in a violent chain reaction.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The wooden structures of the Infinity Castle stood no chance. The orbs engulfed everything, turning the fortress into a sea of emerald fire. The lesser demons were vaporized instantly. Doma, an Upper Rank 2, had been erased by a single orb; these lesser demons didn't stand a chance. Muzan's centuries-old army was decimated in a heartbeat. One orb even pierced through a room to find and kill Nakime.

With Nakime dead, the Infinity Castle began to shake and collapse. Only two demons remained before Roy and Ryuu: Muzan Kibutsuji and Upper Rank 1, Kokushibo.

"????" The two demons stood frozen.

Muzan's face was contorted with rage and confusion. He didn't care about the lives of his pawns, but he was terrified by the sheer power of these newcomers. "Are you... messengers of the gods?"

Kokushibo's six golden eyes remained fixed on them. He couldn't imagine any other explanation for such overwhelming might.

"Miss Ryuu, leave the one with six eyes to me," Roy said. "You take Muzan."

"Understood." Ryuu's sky-blue eyes locked onto Muzan, making the Demon King tremble.

Impossible, impossible! Muzan roared inwardly. The danger he felt from this blonde girl was no less than what he had felt from Yoriichi Tsugikuni centuries ago.
