[3rd POV]
"Denji!!"
Too late.
"Gah!!" his whole body folded inwards, spiky chainsaw mouth spitting blood on asphalt.
Quanxi speed blitzed him with ease. While Denji was bent over by her elbow, she moved behind him. Her footsteps were so precise and smooth that it looked like she was skating on ice.
She grabbed him by the handle on the back of the chainsaw head. She planted her feet on the ground, the firmness causing earth to crack like cobwebs.
Then she literally tore off his head by pulling hard and pushing with her back at the same time. Denji's head came off like that one tiny thread you could pull on your old sweater.
After his head came out his spine, rib cage and his beating heart. She would've grabbed the heart immediately had it not been his instinctive protection with the chainsaw that ran down his head.
She threw him across the street like a cannon and he crashed on the building on the opposite side.
People were yelling, cars were crashing in on themselves and the drivers ran away in fear. The whole street was evacuated in less than a few minutes. It was not surprising that the people of this world knew exactly how to react in this type of situation.
Aki lay on the sidewalk helplessly. He was torso only but his contract with Jin allowed him to not pass out. He didn't heal visibly like a devil would, but his blood already stopped spilling and his body worked overtime to keep itself alive.
Quanxi turned to him sharply, her mind considering whether to kill or not. In his current state, he seemed very harmless. But who knows what contract he had, so it would be wise to kill him.
She did not have the luxury of mercy.
"You're from the 4th Division," she said, "Tell me, where is-"
But before she could complete her words, she dodged under the violent swing of the chainsaw. In just that short instance, Denji had already healed his full body in a show of bullshit regeneration.
But the skill difference between Quanxi and Denji were like the mariana trench and the mount everest. She dodged, almost danced, in between every strike that Denji threw and she punished him for them.
A horizontal swing that aimed to cut her head. She dodged and hit the elbow, breaking it immediately.
A vertical slash from the other hand that buzzed with unforgiving chains. She positioned her body sideways, the blade only tickling her boobs. She hit Denji at the side of his chest, knocking his shoulder out of the socket.
Denji's eyes shone madly and he tried blending her with the chainsaw that stuck out from his head. Quanxi grabbed the chainsaw with her fingers. She caught him in such a way that her palm did not get cut from the spinning blades. She was pinching almost.
This version of Denji was not trained by Kishibe, nor did he fight against the Bomb Devil. So he was very weak in comparison.
Quanxi then pulled her hands back, slowly from her standard. Then she hit the metal head, her fist breaking a part of Chainsawman's head and stopped the spinning blade.
When the chain stopped and hung loosely, she pulled down with one finger, snapping the chain that wrapped around the saw. Then she tugged it backwards. Denji's chain split his own upper head into two.
But Denji was not to be underestimated.
Since they were in close quarters, he was able to snap at the woman and bite her at the arm. Quanxi pulled back fast but he was still able to get a mouthful of blood with his broken teeth.
Immediately, his injuries healed. He pulled at the string in his heart, like he was reawakening an engine. His chainsaw became pristine once more, his body completely unharmed.
"You're going to be annoying to kill," Quanxi said, holding her injured arm that was already healing.
Quanxi was the hybrid just like Denji. But she was so strong and powerful that she could still bully Denji in his form. She was like Jin whose base form alone had already surpassed superhuman limits.
One blow from her was more powerful than a car hitting you. A clean hit from her could kill even first rated Devil Hunters.
"Who the hell are you and why are you attacking us!!" Aki screamed, sweat falling on his face. It was sweat from the sheer pain and trauma. He felt like he was having a fever.
"I'm not going to tell you that," Quanxi said with a tilted head like he was stupid.
Denji burst forward again, harder and more aggressive than ever. Quanxi took a few steps for retreat.
"Just stay still bitch!!" Denji screamed, swinging mindlessly at her.
And then, small chainsaws appeared on his feet. They split his foot in the middle and anchored themselves on the ground. The teeth dug in, and when they spun, they propelled Denji in an insane burst of speed.
It was innovation that came from sheer annoyance.
Quanxi's eye grew wide and she dodged to the side. She was so fast that she left an afterimage which Denji crashed into.
Charging through an illusion, Denji continued to blitz, the chainsaw on his feet left a clear line of destruction as he threw himself into a building.
He was fast, but he was nowhere near being able to control his speed.
Quanxi knew that.
She became alerted and did not go for an attack. She stayed on the ground, feet and one arm planted on asphalt while she waited for Denji to appear from the smoke and debris.
"Hahaha!! I figured out something cool!!" Denji said in a coarse tone, his voice was like it came from a bad radio.
And boom.
Quanxi dodged but this time, she was too slow. When she turned, she saw her blood splatter in mid air and her left arm sliced off.
Denji on the other hand continued to blitz forward and crash into another building.
Quanxi caught her arm before it hit the ground and reattached it on the side of her body.
But by that point, Denji was like a child who got a new toy. He blitzed out again from the debris, his chainsaw feet bit into cars and cut them in half during the process.
Twice was enough for her to figure out that he could only move so fast in a line so she was successful in dodging. Quanxi was on the backfoot this time, constantly dodging Denji who blitzed at her almost in a zigzag.
Except he needed to crash everytime to stop.
Together, they razed the city block like this.
Fortunately, people had evacuated. But the collateral was nothing to scoff at.
The exchange only came to a stop when Denji crashed into a building and never popped back up again. Quanxi released a breath, finally feeling the pressure off her shoulder.
She waited until the smoke cleared and you could see the Chainsawman nested on a crater he carved at a building. His body was literally in mingles. You could see injuries he sustained by his own blades during the crash.
He laid there like a broken toy that was thrown by a toddler.
"Oops, i'm out of blood,"
Quanxi rarely had expression on her face but she was deadpanning hard. The reason why she held back and only dodged was because she thought he had a final trump card and she was bracing for that.
No one would be stupid enough to experiment on their powers and constantly injure themselves until they ran out of juice, right?
Apparently, that was wrong. There was indeed someone stupid enough.
But at that point, the fight had stretched more than necessary and Devil Hunters along with the police were in the area.
"Freeze or we will open fire!!" Some officers screamed while pointing a gun at her.
Half a dozen Devil Hunters dressed in the Public Safety Commission Uniform were also in the area. They had an odd cool to them, like they had the situation under control. Their face didn't contort with fear like the police force.
Quanxi turned to the broken car beside her and plunged her hand onto the roof. She tore at metal roof like someone tearing paper.
Then in front of everyone's eyes, she folded the thin metal into something sharp and strong.
"This would do," she said to herself.
"We will ask this for the final time, surrender or we will open fire," one of the Devil Hunters said, also wielding a gun.
Quanxi only replied by lowering her stance and staying in that ready posture.
The two parties stared at each other before the Devil Hunters gave in first.
"Open fire," he said.
And they pulled the trigger. Few of the Devil Hunters reached out their hand, making a sign. Two Fox paws materialized from thin air and clawed towards her.
Bullets were making their way towards her at sonic speed.
Compared to all this, Quanxi made the later move.
But she was faster.
A whistle, like air becoming blades.
Then she was gone.
"Huh?"
And she was on the other side.
The Devil Hunters and the Police all turned to her as she dodged all their combined attacks. No one saw what happened. For a moment, their eyes tricked them that she was in two place at the same time.
"Careful, it seems like the enemy has some sort of teleportation ability,"
Everyone gave a nod.
And that same nod was their death.
The cut was precise, striking at the line of eyebrow. When they nod their head, the top slide off like a cake. Their expression remained unchanged and for a while, they could see their own standing bodies from the ground.
It wasn't a strike at the neck, that'd let them retain their consciousness too long. Their brain was literally sliced into two.
Fourteen individuals, dead in but an instant.
"The Japanese had grown weak," Quanxi commented while throwing away the sharp scrap of metal in her hand.
"I think I've done my part," she said.
Distraction.
That was her main role in this whole thing. It was unbelievable that the first Devil Hunter, the strongest in China, was given the role of distraction.
But it was precisely because of her strength and big name that she was given the role. That way, the Public Safety Commission would not realize the real plan.
The main goal why everyone was here.
"Hmm?"
Danger.
Immense danger.
No, death.
Quanxi felt a threat so great she didn't even think it was real. Her one eye widened to the limit and she hurriedly plunged her hand into the socket of her covered eye.
A flash of black descended from the sky.
BOOOOOOOOOOM*
And the whole block was blown into smitherines.
