Chapter 55 - He Asks, You Tell?

Kushida Kikyou stared straight at Shikime Natsu, as if trying to see any trace of a lie in him.

She had already revealed her past, yet this guy still said he preferred her true self. A normal person would never like her real personality. This guy really was a weirdo.

"You don't think I'll fall for you just because you said that, do you?"

Kushida Kikyou looked at Shikime Natsu with disgust. This guy was probably just like Yamauchi Haruki and the others in class, his mind full of filth.

"Could it be that you're the type to easily fall for someone over a single sentence, Kikyou?"

Shikime Natsu looked at Kushida Kikyou with a smile that wasn't quite a smile.

"Of course not."

Kushida Kikyou denied it flatly.

"It's getting late. Time to go back."

Shikime Natsu took out his phone and glanced at the time. It was 9:50; there were only ten minutes until curfew.

"As long as you don't act recklessly, Horikita won't say anything."

Hearing Shikime Natsu's words, Kushida Kikyou followed him, though her face was still full of disbelief. What if Horikita Suzune did say something?

Sure enough, this matter had nothing to do with Shikime Natsu, so this guy didn't care at all.

The night wind was still quite cool. Facing the breeze, Kushida Kikyou felt her mind calm down a little.

"Then I'll be counting on you, Shikime-san~"

The expression on Kushida Kikyou's face returned to the angelic look she had at the beginning.

"I'm already calling you Kikyou, so you should change how you address me too. We share a little secret that only we know; shouldn't our relationship get a little closer?"

How shameless! How was their relationship any closer?

"Oh, you're right, Natsu~"

Of course, that's what she thought in her heart, but Kushida Kikyou had already reached the dormitory area, a very gentle smile still on her face.

Listening to that sweet and soft voice... hmm, it would have been nice if it were a true angel like Shiina Hiyori or Ichinose Honami saying it. What a shame. Kushida Kikyou was a two-faced angel.

"See you tomorrow then, Kikyou. Oh, right, help me keep an eye out for people who could become friends with Horikita."

Shikime Natsu spoke to Kushida Kikyou before stepping out of the elevator. The girl couldn't help but be stunned for a moment.

What did this guy mean?

Hadn't she made herself clear enough? She couldn't stand that bitch Horikita Suzune!

And Shikime Natsu wanted her to help Horikita Suzune find people who could be her friends?

How about the Yamauchi Haruki trio?!

Kushida Kikyou found Shikime Natsu completely unreasonable. It was as if he had ignored everything she had just told him. How could such a person exist? He really was a strange guy!

But then she thought about Shikime Natsu's earlier statement, that he could even accept her true, awful personality, and it didn't seem so strange anymore.

If he were a normal person, he definitely wouldn't have any goodwill toward her after seeing that side of her. Even if he didn't act on it, rejection would be unavoidable.

Are there really no fingerprints on these pajamas?

Kushida Kikyou looked at her pajamas. She still couldn't quite believe it, but there was no place at this school to extract fingerprints.

After all, fingerprint extraction wasn't something a normal high school student needed. If it were really necessary, it would require outside intervention.

That would be a big problem for her as well. She'd search online when she got back.

As for helping Horikita Suzune find friends, Kushida Kikyou would absolutely not agree. Horikita Suzune should stay alone for all three years of high school, just as she said!

Could it be... that Horikita Suzune and Shikime Natsu have some kind of relationship?

At this thought, Kushida Kikyou's heart sank again. It was as if she had handed over all her leverage. If those two were really on the same side, then starting tomorrow, Kushida Kikyou would be able to hear rumors about herself.

Damn it!

Why did I tell him just because he asked!

Kushida Kikyou felt that her mind definitely wasn't clear, but... now that things had come to this, the current Kushida Kikyou could only cling to the hope that what Shikime Natsu said was true.

....

Shikime Natsu returned to his room, washed up briefly, then lay down on his bed and began to observe the CGs he had obtained so far.

He had obtained so many in less than a week since enrolling. Coming to this school was definitely the right choice.

Although there were many problem girls, it didn't matter. After all, he was here, and they would be spending three whole years together, which should be enough time to change a person's personality, right?

At least, Shikime Natsu felt he could do it. Hmm... he definitely could.

First, let's tag the problem girls for now.

First is Horikita Suzune; this is related to Shikime Natsu's one-million-point plan.

Then there's Sakayanagi Arisu; she's a smug brat whose favorite things are backstabbing and scheming. If he hadn't been clever, he might have really fallen for it.

Then there's Kushida Kikyou. Her priority isn't as high as the first two.

As for Kamuro Masumi and Yamamura Miki, they don't have any major problems. The former is a tsundere, the latter has an inferiority complex. With time, these can be resolved. Besides, Shikime Natsu quite likes Kamuro Masumi's personality.

Mei-Yu Wang... the gyaru trio... he's basically only met them once.

Right, there's also Ichinose Honami and Shiina Hiyori. He wondered if they might have another side like Kushida Kikyou.

One is a beautiful girl who is kind to everyone and has a very friendly aura, and the other is a literary girl from the library. Honestly, if he really had to choose between the two angels, it would be a difficult decision.

Fortunately, for Shikime Natsu, it was never a multiple-choice question.

Of course, Shikime Natsu was always wary of following in Makoto Itou's footsteps. He had to learn from Itsuka Shido, that was the ideal, or perhaps someone like Aijo Rentaro.

However, a hundred was a bit too many for Shikime Natsu. There were only seven days in a week; there was no way he could get to them all.

Soon, Shikime Natsu's thoughts returned to Horikita Suzune. How should he deal with this problem girl?

He had already obtained Horikita Manabu's permission and had Horikita Manabu notify Horikita Suzune, so there shouldn't be any problem.

First, correct her personality, then help Horikita Suzune find friends. The first choice would be himself, and the second and third choices should be from Class D. Otherwise, it would be difficult to correct Horikita Suzune's personality.

To be honest, Shikime Natsu really wanted to see Kushida Kikyou and Horikita Suzune become friends. Two people who can't stand each other being together—forcing that kind of relationship would also be quite interesting.

Of course, in one semester, Shikime Natsu didn't expect the two to get along amicably. It would be good enough if Kushida Kikyou didn't completely fall out with Horikita Suzune.

Relationships between people always need a catalyst.

Shikime Natsu put down his phone and didn't dwell on it any longer. He would find a suitable opportunity eventually.
