Chapter 14 - CHAPTER 14 — The School Devours Itself

The Night Everything That Was Hiding… Comes Out.

---

Scene 1 — Evacuation Chaos

Alarms wailed.

Lights flickered so violently it felt like the entire building was rejecting electricity.

Teachers screamed for order.

Students shoved past one another.

Some cried.

Some prayed.

Others just froze.

Doors wouldn't open.

Hallways stretched longer than they should've.

Shadows looked… thicker.

And somewhere deep inside the dormitories, a low, ancient groan shook the foundations.

Akira grabbed Kylori's arm.

"Don't tell me you're staying here—"

He cut her off without looking at her.

"Akira. You need to leave."

She blinked, stunned.

"What? No— I'm not leaving you by your—"

Another shake.

Harder.

Dust rained from the ceiling.

A distant scream echoed—then abruptly stopped.

Kylori's voice stayed maddeningly calm.

"There's not much time. Go."

Akira's throat tightened.

"Why? What's happening?"

He finally turned just enough for her to see the faint tension in his expression.

Not fear.

Recognition.

Like something he hoped would never return.

"They've been feeding under this place for years," he said quietly.

"Tonight, they woke up."

The floor cracked behind him—thin lines of shadow bleeding upward like ink.

He pointed down the hallway.

"Take the straight hall to the outdoor dorm lot. You'll reach the others. Leave the school borders. Don't look back."

She hesitated—eyes shaking, breath uneven.

"Kylori… I—"

"Go."

His voice was soft, but it hit her like commandment.

And she ran.

---

Scene 2 — The Hallway Awakens

The moment she vanished around the corner—

Kylori exhaled a long, tired breath.

The hall ahead of him darkened unnaturally, swallowing the emergency lights.

Every door along the corridor bulged, dented outward, as if something enormous pressed against them from the other side.

Kylori cracked his neck.

"Alright…"

His shadow stretched.

Bent.

Warped across the walls like living tar.

Then his tone shifted—calm, cold, almost amused.

"Pleasurable kills await you."

The air rippled.

"Now show me… how much you desire it."

And the building answered.

Scene 3 — The Eldritch Unveil

**They emerged.

Not summoned.

Not called.

Not created.

Just released.**

For the first time in years, the creatures anchored beneath the school tasted open air.

And they rushed toward the only threat in the building.

Kylori.

AETHERIAL WRAITHS

Rose first—silhouette soldiers slipping out of the cracks, flickering like smoke with too many limbs. No malice.

Just cold precision.

ECHO SHADES

Ripped themselves out of reflective surfaces—dozens of distorted Kyloris crawling out of shattered windows, mirrors, and metal lockers.

SOULBOUND HORRORS

Some grotesque, some heartbreakingly beautiful.

Eyes full of old resentment… but bodies obeying him unwillingly.

VEILWALKERS

Reality rippled around them like heat waves.

Each step bent the hallway.

OBLIVION SENTINELS

The floor split open.

Something the size of a building began to rise, crystalline and absolute, limbs reforming with crushing authority.

UMBRAL LURKERS

Skittered forth—tiny, chaotic shadow vermin that snickered with childlike bloodlust.

NIGHTBORNE PHANTOMS

Drifted down from the ceiling like falling stars, their ethereal bodies humming with dream-energy.

MALIGNANTS

Dragged themselves from the darkness dripping hunger—hissing with gleeful sadism, jaws splitting in impossible directions.

NIHILITHS

Formed from pure despair—voids shaped vaguely like entities, whispering nothingness.

DEVOURER SHADES

Slithered, sprinted, crawled—predators built purely to end anything living.

SADIST WRAITHS

Crawled along the walls in twitching, ecstatic frenzy.

And all of them looked toward Kylori.

Some bowed.

Some trembled.

Some snarled.

Some—the old ones anchored to the school—growled in defiance, ready to rip him apart.

Kylori just stood there.

Silent.

Unmoving.

Unimpressed.

Then he smiled.

Not wide.

Not monstrous.

Just a small, satisfied, "Finally."

Scene 4 — The First Clash Begins

A Malignant screeched and lunged.

A Devourer Shade skittered across the ceiling.

A massive Nihilith blinked into existence right in front of him, claws raised.

The entire hallway convulsed, vibrating with eldritch hunger as dozens of entities rushed him at once.

Kylori lifted one hand.

Just one.

The shadows behind him exploded outward.

The air pressure nearly collapsed the ceiling.

Every creature in the front line froze mid-charge—limbs twisted, jaws snapped shut, bodies spasming as if held in a cosmic vice.

Kylori stepped forward, eyes half-lidded with annoyance.

"You feast tonight…"

He whispered—

"…but only on my terms."

His shadowstorm tore through them.

The school screamed as the battle began.
