Chapter 16 - CHAPTER 16 — THE END OF AN ANCHOR

SCENE 1 — The Anchor Tries to Flee

The hallway vibrates with tension as the anchor entity retreats, its mass shrinking and expanding in sheer panic. It tries every trick it knows:

phasing through walls

bending its form into mist

splitting into multiple copies

warping the space around it

But nothing works.

Every distortion collapses instantly.

Because Meykami's presence rewrites the rules before the anchor can even use them.

He just keeps walking forward.

A single step.

Another.

Slow.

Soft.

Almost gentle.

But each step snaps the anchor's abilities like twigs.

SCENE 2 — "Don't run. I chose you."

The creature screeches in a language that sounds like drowning and breaking bones at the same time — a plea, a warning, a desperate instinct screaming to get away.

Meykami tilts his head.

Not with anger.

Not with emotion.

Just—

interest.

His smile widens just a millimeter.

"If you run," he says quietly,

"you make this boring."

The anchor freezes on the spot.

Its body convulses, forced still as if the shadows themselves grabbed its spine.

Because when Meykami speaks like that…

Reality listens.

SCENE 3 — The Taking Process Begins

His shadow detaches fully now, floating behind him like a cloak made from an ocean of ink and bone fragments.

Shapes move inside it—

eyes, jaws, tendrils—

but they're not acting.

They're waiting for his signal.

Meykami lifts one hand lazily.

The anchor entity is dragged toward him, limbs folding, mass crushing in on itself against its will.

It screams so loudly the sound doesn't exit its body — it vibrates the air instead.

Students outside hear nothing.

But the walls…

they crack like dry skin.

SCENE 4 — Complete Domination

The creature's many eyes fix on Meykami's white, expressionless ones.

And in that moment, every cell, every particle, every memory in its existence realizes:

It is prey.

Meykami's voice lowers, almost curious:

"How long have you been hiding under my nose?"

The anchor thrashes, but its movements become sluggish, melting.

His shadow spreads under it like a pool of night water.

The taking begins.

The creature's body starts dissolving into liquid darkness, piece by piece, like its existence is being unmade from the inside out.

No theatrics.

No explosions.

Just annihilation through simple, absolute superiority.

SCENE 5 — The Final Moment

Right as the entity's last remaining "head" tries to look away—

Meykami gently grabs its face.

Two fingers.

Soft.

Almost affectionate.

Like touching a scared animal.

Its entire mass freezes.

His smile disappears.

His voice becomes low and cold:

"Everything you devoured…

Everything you hid…

Everything you anchored here…"

He leans in slightly.

"—is mine now."

WHOOMPH.

The creature collapses inward, crushed into a single black sphere the size of a marble.

Meykami lets it fall into his palm.

The moment he closes his hand—

the marble melts into his shadow and vanishes.

SCENE 6 — Silence Before the Storm

The hallway goes still.

Lights flicker back to normal.

But outside?

Every other eldritch being in the school immediately senses what just happened.

They don't run.

They don't hide.

They freeze.

Because they all felt the anchor—their stabilizer, their leader, their lifeline—get erased.

And now?

They don't know if they're next.

Meykami stands alone in the hall, eyes still white.

His shadow pulses like a heartbeat.

"...Now it gets noisy," he mutters in a cold whisper.
