Chapter 128 - Chapter 116: The Yellow Hounds, The Vampire Oath, and The Timeline Erasers

[ Location: The Upside Down - Mirror Frostwell Lawn ]

I stood on the rotting grass of my dimension, staring down at the so-called hunters of the universe.

Jane, Alec, Demetri, and the giant Felix were on their knees in the toxic dirt, surrounded by a thousand snarling Demodogs and behind them, my fifty-foot, acid-dripping Basilisk coiled around my house, hissing.

To them, I had just stepped through the portal five seconds ago after ripping a cosmic god's arm off and to me, I had just spent a relaxing nine months playing wizard school.

I dropped my heavy Fear Aura.

The freezing, crushing pressure vanished.

Felix collapsed forward, gasping and clutching his cracked ribs.

Jane stayed on her knees, her pale hands trembling in the dirt.

"Now," I smiled, resting my Void Blade on my shoulder. "You guys were saying something about burning me to ash?"

Jane swallowed hard.

The terrifying vampire who loved torturing people was completely gone and now she looked like a scared child.

"We... we were wrong, my Lord," Jane whispered, bowing her head. "We didn't know what you were."

"I'm just a normal teenager from Indiana," I shrugged. "But I also own this dimension. So tell me the truth, Jane. Why did Aro really send his attack dogs to my front lawn?"

Alec looked up, panicked. "Because you are too loud!"

"Loud?" I raised an eyebrow. "I'm standing in a dead dimension, Nobody can hear me."

"Earth had a Stealth Barrier!" Demetri, the tracker, blurted out, his voice shaking. "For thousands of years, hidden factions have kept this planet completely quiet so the things outside the universe wouldn't notice us!"

Jane looked terrified. "But you fought one of the Outer God and now you sealed another one into the crust of this dimension. The energy spike was massive and so you made a hole in barrier, Vivan. Those things outside is listening now and real monsters are coming."

I stared at her.

"If the big monsters come," I smirked, my eyes flashing violet, "I'll just add them to my collection and speaking of which..."

I snapped my fingers.

CRACK.

Dark clouds swirled.

The toxic fog turned into ice crystals and sixty rotting, black-cloaked figures drifted down from the sky.

The Dementors.

I had kidnapped them from Hogwarts to be my new guard dogs.

They glided toward my house in a silent swarm, ready to suck the souls out of the vampires.

But as they got closer to the ground, something went wrong.

SCREEECH!

The lead Dementor stopped in mid-air and it grabbed its hooded head and shrieked in absolute agony.

"What's happening to them?!" Alec yelled, covering his ears.

I watched, fascinated.

The Upside Down wasn't just a dead dimension anymore as I had sealed Hastur (The King in Yellow) deep under the dirt. The entire dimension was now a massive energy core radiating the dead god's pure madness.

The Dementors were sponges for emotion so I think they were soaking up Hastur's madness.

The sixty ghosts began to twitch violently and their black cloaks bleached into a sickly mustard yellow.

Their skeletal hands grew long, jagged black claws and they turned into terrifying, alien nightmares.

[ New Entity Classification: THE YELLOW HOUNDS. ][ Ability: The Erasing Kiss. ]

[ Description: Instead of consuming a soul, a Yellow Hound deletes a target from the timeline entirely. If the target is stronger than one limb of the target is permanently erased. ]

My jaw dropped.

'Erase from the timeline?' I thought, my heart hammering with pure greed. 'If they kiss someone, it's like that person never even existed. Haha I just got sixty literal delete buttons.'

I laughed out loud.

"Oh, this is too good," I grinned, looking up at the yellow-cloaked ghosts.

I turned my attention back to the terrified vampires.

"Listen carefully, Vap squad," I pointed my sword at them. "You work for me now and you are my spies on whatever your organization is. Go back to Aro and tell him Hawkins is safe."

"You want us to lie to the Volturi King?" Felix gasped, clutching his ribs.

"I want you to be my sleeper agents," I ordered. "If any hidden monsters try to come to my town, warn me first and if you betray me..."

I pointed up at the Yellow Hounds.

"I'll let them kiss you and Aro won't even be able to mourn you, because it will be like you were never born."

Jane swallowed hard, staring at the yellow ghosts.

She bowed her head instantly.

"We swear loyalty to you, Lord Vivan," Jane whispered, totally defeated.

"Good," I smirked.

I slashed my hand through the air, tearing open a portal back to my front lawn in the real world.

"Get off my lawn," I commanded. "And don't come back unless you have useful intel."

The four vampires scrambled to their feet.

They sprinted through the green rift like terrified deer, vanishing back into the bright Indiana sunlight.

I let the portal snap shut.

I was finally alone with my new monsters.

I let out a long breath, ready to head back to my bedroom and finally get some sleep.

But then... the dimension trembled.

The sky above the Upside Down seemed to stretch and distort.

'What is that...'

I fell to one knee, clutching my head. My vision shifted involuntarily, pulled outward by the sheer gravity of whatever was happening outside the boundaries of my world.

The darkness of the Abyss bled into my mind.

I saw a deep, impossibly dark ocean and at the bottom of that ocean, buried under eons of silt and sunken dead stars, a mountain of green, rotting flesh twitched.

It felt the energy spike of the Stealth Barrier shattering.

It saw the light pouring out of Earth.

A single, massive, maddeningly yellow eye snapped open in the abyssal dark.

The psychic weight of that gaze alone nearly flattened my consciousness.

I tasted salt water and pure, unfiltered madness.

I snapped back to my body, gasping for air, ripping myself away from the vision before my brain could melt.

Hot blood poured from my nose, dripping onto the toxic grass.

A massive, blood-red notification window slammed into my vision.

[ SYSTEM CRITICAL ALERT: FLUCTUATION DETECTED ]

[ Entity Stirring: The Great Dreamer (Cthulhu). ]

[ Status: Sensing the Light and Waking process initiated. ]

I stared at the glowing red text.

The arrogant smirk which I had was completely wiped from my face and my blood ran ice-cold.

'Cthulhu? The actual, world-ending, madness-inducing squid god?'

I looked up at my new Yellow Hounds, my giant Basilisk, and my thousands of Demodogs.

A minute ago, they felt like an unstoppable army and now, against a Great Old One? They felt like a handful of ants trying to stop a tidal wave.

"He isn't rising today," I whispered to the toxic wind, my voice shaking slightly. "The waking process takes time."

I wiped the blood from my face and forced myself to stand up.

"But the clock just started."

I opened a small portal directly into my bedroom and stepped through.

"I need to get stronger," I muttered, the red warning screen still burning in my mind. "A lot stronger."
