Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Research Problems

Elizabeth had delivered some of the materials and left.

Dexter now was facing the hard part of this entire bet, he had the solution to the energy problem the laser tech was facing, but implementing it into reality was a real hassle.

"How do I do this?" Dexter mumbled to himself.

"Hey Ana, you got any ideas?" Dexter asked Ana in his mind.

"You can used the same principal as how solar panels work, but instead of photons you are collecting energy." Ana explained.

Dexter listened to what she said and thought that it made sense, he got back to scribbling his ideas on a paper.

The man from earlier was researching the laser project with his assistant when the assistant asked,

"Sir are you confident that Dexter would not solve the problem?"

"He is just a teenage kid, I am not even sure if he has finished college yet, there is no way he would solve the problem."

The assistant saw that the man was brimming with confidence and went back to work.

IN THE WHITE HOUSE

The president had just received detailed information about what had happened in Iran.

He also realized that it would be difficult for a single person on their own to personally create a suit like that, it would take lots of finances.

So he had spent the last few days talking to all the research facilities that work in suit making and all of them haven't yet reached the level of technology that was on display in Iran.

Now he was down to his last two,

California Military Camp and AVD Research Facility.

"I would take a look at the military camp first and then head to the research facility later." The president thought to himself.

He called his secretary and asked her to get the jet ready.

Elizabeth had finally arrived with the rest of the materials, she stayed behind to help Dexter anyway she could and Dexter really appreciated the effort.

"First we have to work on the energy converter." Dexter said, instructing Elizabeth on what to do.

They didn't have much time so they had to work as fast as the could.

After the first day, the energy converter started to come together.

"Wow at this rate we would be done in four days!" Dexter exclaimed

"Thanks for your help Elizabeth." Dexter said with a smile.

"Anytime." And they both left the facility.

Unknown to them as they left a dark figure snuck in and destroyed everything they had created.

Elizabeth was on her way home with her dad, she was smiling brightly and she seemed to be in a good mood.

"I reckon everything went well with the project?" Patrick asked.

"Dad, Dexter is a genius, he didn't just find a solution to the laser tech energy problem, he also found a solution to the worlds energy problem as well." Elizabeth answered.

"...Then he is some genius." Patrick said with a chuckle and closed his eyes to rest.

**********

Andrew the man from earlier in the research facility, was waiting outside the facility.

He saw a figure wearing black from afar and walked over.

"And!?" Andrew asked.

"You were right sir, he had already started to create something, luckily you had nice insight."

Andrew grinned at the compliment before he said, "It is my job as the head researcher to be insightful, let's see how he gets it done now."

Dexter came back to the facility the next day, he saw Elizabeth on her way there and greeted her.

"Morning Elizabeth."

"Morning to you t..." Elizabeth stopped mid sentence ad screamed.

Dexter was wondering what she was screaming about and looked into the research room to see that all they had done since yesterday had been destroyed.

"Oh my god, I knew Andrew wanted to win but I didn't know it was this badly." Elizabeth said seething with fury.

Dexter acted more calmly to the situation, Elizabeth seeing how calm he was, was perplexed.

"How can you be so chill about this?" Elizabeth asked.

"Simple, because now we can beat him at his own game." Dexter said with a smile and got to work.

The president was on a private jet to California, he would be expected to land the next day.

The pilot in the cockpit was having a conversation with air traffic control when the radio went static.

"Hello!? Air Traffic Control, Come in Air Traffic Control!"

"This is air traffic control, we hear you loud and clear, please report to the nearest airport as we have reports that there is a storm coming."

The pilot when he heard the word storm was immediately put at alert, he wastes no time and informed the people in the cabin.

"Hello this is your captain speaking, we will be landing shortly as we have received reports of a storm, but no need to worry we would be back on the air as soon as the storm clears."

"Storm? I didn't hear about any storm in the weather forecasts." The presidents advisor said.

"Who knows maybe it just popped up and plus weather forecasts have been proven to be wrong sometimes." The president said.

"I guess your right."

Later the plane touched down on an airport nearby.

They stayed there and waited for three days but no storm arrived and they were never cleared to fly, the same thing was been said that there was a storm.

On the fourth day, the president got suspicious and decided to do something about it, after making a quick call they were cleared to fly again.

"What happened why were we stalled?" The advisor asked.

"They said there was a malfunction in the weather tower, it was stating there would be a storm when there wasn't." The president said.

Though that sounded like a pretty reasonable explanation, it still didn't feel right to the duo.
