Every time Serena Stanton heard Adrian speak, she couldn't help but smile.
His voice was pleasant, effortlessly cleansing away her entire day's exhaustion.
"I'll go to sleep in a bit," Serena said, leaving her desk and going to lie on the bed.
Adrian: "Hungry?"
"Not really. I ate plenty for dinner, still full from it now." Serena closed her eyes, her voice tinged with a touch of unintended lightness, "The evidence chain is closed, and the mole has been dealt with."
"With a capable Lawyer Stanton, it makes me look redundant," Adrian curved his lips delicately, switching to undeniable remarks, "The only thing you should do now is recharge your energy, and go to meet those committee members beautifully tomorrow."
"Got it, President Shaw," Serena replied, her body still lazily sprawled and unmoving, "…Actually, I'm still a bit nervous."
