Serena's back stiffened at his words.
She froze for three seconds, decided to pretend she hadn't heard, and reached out to open the door and leave.
But the man's legs were long, his stride big, and he moved unhurriedly right behind her.
Adrian's large hand gripped her wrist, dragging her back without a chance to resist. Serena was powerless to fight back; in the blink of an eye, she was spun around, her back pressed against the hard wall.
She tilted her head slightly and met his gaze.
Adrian had just finished his shower, damp hair sticking to his forehead with droplets of water, and the fierce, cold aura he usually carried seemed softened. Around his waist, a bath towel hung loosely, his tall, formidable frame caging her against the wall.
"Where do you think you're going?"
Water dripped from his solid chest, sliding down the narrow, aggressive lines of his abs, steaming into the charged air.
Serena felt his body was so hot, she was about to be cooked alive.
