Serena tried to compose herself, steadying her breath, and didn't answer his question. She calmly repeated:
"Excuse me, could you move aside?"
Adrian straightened up, lowered his head, his indifferent gaze flickering over her slender, clean fingers, which were trembling ever so slightly.
"I'm talking to you. Are you deaf?"
"Whether or not I'm allergic has nothing to do with you." Serena maintained her polite and distant demeanor throughout.
She was unwilling to stand face-to-face with Adrian—he was too tall, making her appear a full head shorter in comparison.
Even in her five-foot-seven frame and high heels, she still couldn't meet his eyes at the same level.
Having spoken, Serena stepped forward, keeping her gaze straight ahead as she walked toward the banquet hall.
Since running into him was unavoidable, the only thing she could do was keep a courteous distance.
