Chapter 20 - Chapter 18-20: Giant Demon Gray, Half a Year, Slumber and Awakening

With the normal growth rate of a Black Dragon, typically at around one hundred and fifty years old, its Biological Level can break through to Level 16. As it progresses further, the time required to elevate its Biological Level becomes increasingly prolonged.

In the professions, Level 15 to 19 is referred to as Master Level, and reaching Level 20 signifies a Legendary Creature.

For Black Dragons, there are no bottlenecks between Level 15 and 19; simply by eating and sleeping, it can naturally break through as it ages.

However, dragons with ambition naturally wish to accelerate this growth.

.....

The Black Dragon Maiden has fallen into slumber.

On the twentieth day since the Black Dragon Maiden entered slumber, a formidable troupe of Giant Demons arrived at the Rotting Swamp.

Sensing a large presence of unfamiliar yet familiar aura outside the Dragon Nest, Udi slowly opened his eyes.

The familiar aura amidst the unfamiliar was precisely the aura of the Black Dragon Maiden.

This means the visitors are followers of the Black Dragon Maiden.

.....

At the edge of the Rotting Swamp, a group of over thirty Giant Demon Warriors threw the prey they carried on their shoulders to the ground, their massive weight making a series of dull sounds upon contact with the earth.

Leading them was a terrifying Giant Demon, standing five meters tall, with thick black Dragon Scales and extremely muscular physique, suddenly casting his gaze to the left.

Under the watchful eyes of this fearsome Giant Demon, bubbles emerged from within the Rotting Swamp about a hundred meters away.

A robust young Black Dragon, with muscle proportions not inferior to the leading Giant Demon, surged skyward from the Rotting Swamp.

The Black Dragon's pair of Dragon Wings, spanning eleven meters, seemed quite daunting.

"Are you the leader of the Giant Demons that my mother contracted, Gray?"

Udi did not land, nor did he approach the Giant Demons, as his dragon senses intensely warned him that the leading Giant Demon was extremely dangerous!!

Even without the danger alert from his senses, just the opponent's five-meter-tall robust body indicated their considerable power.

The Black Dragon Maiden's followers, divided by type, belong to the Giant Demon species sub-branch — 'Forest Giant Demon'.

An adult Forest Giant Demon stands between three and a half to four meters in height, with a Biological Level of Level 3, while some outstanding individuals reach Level 4. Besides possessing extremely abnormal regenerative ability (even having their head blown can recover), they also wield a formidable Spell-like Ability — 'Plant Control'.

The thirty Giant Demon Warriors ahead, wearing black plant vine heavy armor, generated using the Spell-like Ability Plant Control, boast hardness comparable to steel of equivalent thickness, yet remain lightweight and flexible.

Their grasp, holding massive heavy dark wooden clubs studded with spikes, also holds considerable intimidation.

Based on appearances alone, Udi estimates that this group could smash a tank flat by brute force.

"I am Gray," the Giant Demon Leader spoke in a low, muffled voice, gesturing for the Giant Demon Warriors behind him to spread out, revealing then dozens of piled-up prey.

"As per the master's command, we brought the prey to the Rotting Swamp," Gray, with Copper Bell Eyes, curiously examined the master's offspring.

This was also Gray's first time seeing the master's offspring.

Appears... not weak, but still falls short of comparison with me.

"The master has birthed not even a year ago, how did the Young Master grow so large?"

Giant Demons generally have some mental deficiency but as one accepted by an Adult Black Dragon's Servant Contract, transformed by the Dragon Vein, Gray is evidently an exception.

More precisely, Gray, originally not taken as a servant by the Black Dragon Maiden, was an anomaly among Giant Demons, having ancestral bloodline. Shortly after adulthood, its Biological Level broke through to Level 5, entering the Intermediate Demon threshold.

Forest Giant Demon's bloodline at most allows them to achieve Level 4 Demon; without cultivation professions, reaching Intermediate Demon is practically impossible in their lifetime.

Yet Gray, solely relying on bloodline Power reached Level 5 Demon, and after receiving the Black Dragon Maiden's Dragon Vein Power, following her for several decades, now has become a High-Level Demon — Dragon Vein · Giant Demon Leader.

This is why Udi felt the intense death threat from it.

High-Level Demon, according to tier division, represents formidable existence whose Biological Level reaches Level 10 and beyond.

"Leave the prey here; you may leave now." Udi hovered in the air, gazing down at them.

Despite being followers of the Black Dragon Maiden, Udi maintained a cautious mindset against life-threatening entities.

Followers of the dragon aren't absolutely immune to betrayal; the probability is just extremely low, especially for creatures deeply imbued with the Dragon Master's bloodline Power.

Yet no matter how small the probability, aren't there lottery winners who strike it big?

Udi feels maintaining caution poses no issue.

Gray frowned, noticing the Young Master did not trust them.

After pondering for a moment, Gray nodded his head and then called his kin to magnificently depart from there.

Udi flapped his wings into the sky, watching Gray and the group of heavily armored Giant Demon Warriors vanish from his view, and only then he relaxed his vigilance slightly.

He let out a Dragon's Roar.

Instantly, Heloise and Brook emerged from their concealment within the Rotting Swamp behind him, fluttering their small Dragon Wings.

Without Udi's command, the two young dragons actively landed among the group of prey and swiftly began transporting the prey corpses.
