Lilian's POV
The shrill buzz of my phone sliced through the silence of Herman's office, cutting Gina off mid-sentence.
Gina's expression darkened with irritation.
Herman waved his hand dismissively. "Go ahead and answer it."
Without hesitation, I declined the call and switched my phone to silent. This opportunity was too precious to waste. Herman was giving me real mentorship, something most junior employees never got. I couldn't blow it over a phone call.
"Please continue, Gina," I said, focusing back on her presentation.
Gina glanced toward Herman before picking up where she left off, walking me through client management strategies and communication protocols.
An hour later, we wrapped up. I had filled pages with notes, absorbing every detail Gina shared about handling difficult clients and managing expectations. My head buzzed with new information.
