Chapter 18 - Slice of Eden

"So you take the knife, and you carefully slice them up into neat little noodles," Samael carefully showcased with his tongue out, trying to precisely cut the carrots Adam had given him and Eve.

Eve watched with all the seriousness of a artist learning their passions and crafts.

And carefully copied what the angel had to show with as much precision as she could manage, which was difficult.

It was hard to copy an angel that had the power of autism—That Adam theorized or more accurately he conspiracied—but tried her best.

"Is this for a meal?" Eve asked curiously as she followed his lead while Samael tried to get the details down by the millimeters.

"Probably, Adam asked for help to have this done!" He cheerfully answered as he got down to his third carrot, "I think he said he was going to pickle it like his…well pickles, to make a "salad" called kareski,".

Eve mouthed out the word, as she tried to memorize the very strange words Adam seemed to make up on the fly.

"Adam has this habit with every other day inventing something new! Be it a food! An Activity! Or just something new and weird!"

"Come on! We are barely half way there! I want to see what else he is going to make today!"

————————————————————

"Hoo-HA!" "Hoopa!" "HUZZUH!" "Ha!"

"What are they doing?" Eve asked in confusion as she and Lilith were out relaxing in the grass fields, little Junimos going past them carrying fruits and other resources.

"Being idiots," Lilith deadpanned, not even bothering to look back like Eve as she watched the two males fight each other with sticks with giddy smiles.

"They are slapping each other with sticks," Eve stated the obvious with her observations as her flaming hair flickered brighter for a moment or two.

Funnily enough, unless Eve wanted to burn something, her hair was as safe as it could be, though unlike her swaying hair, hers doubled as a source of warmth.

"As I have said…they are being idiots," as Lilith ignored the sounds of male giggling in the background poking each other with sticks.

"…They are both flying now," Eve continued to state nonchalantly as she carefully observed whatever "game" the boys were playing.

Lilith groaned in pain as she placed both of her hands in her face and leaned back, "nooooo they are evolving,"

Eve innocently looked back at Lilith while blinking in curiousity, "Evolving into what?"

"Advanced Idiots- WHAT IS SO INTERESTING ABOUT HITTING EACH OTHER WITH STICKS," Lilith having enough couldn't take the sounds of them hitting eachother and their giggling anymore and yelled at them in the sky.

————————————————————

Adam and Eve laid on the flower field, Eve humming to herself as she carefully arranged the picked flowers in a specific pattern.

Adam on the other hand was relaxing, head on his hands as he laid back, enjoying the gently blowing breeze, the mesmerizing scent of the fields, and the beautiful humming of his would-be wife.

"…Do you like flowers?" Eve suddenly asked in curiosity, as she continued making whatever she was currently making.

Adam hummed to himself as he tried to think of a response, "…I don't hate them" was what he came out with, he neither liked nor disliked them, though they could create a pretty sight.

"Do you have a favorite one?" She continued on this line of thought, still humming a tune only she could hear.

"Asian Bleeding Heart," was his immediate response, which completely befuddled Eve as she didn't expect the answer nor the rather concerning name.

"But why?" She couldn't help but ask, what made Adam so sure that that was his favorite?

Adam shrugged nonchalantly, ever so relaxed, "It looks cool," was his simple answer.

Eve stared at him, opening and closing his mouth, not sure what to say, before she burst out giggling behind a hand, Adam opening an eye to look at her with a raised eyebrow.

And a small grin on his face.

"…does it look like an actual bleeding heart?" Eve sounded curious, a bit unsure if she wanted to know or not.

Adam chuckled before he snapped his fingers, summoning a Junimo, a green one appeared before him in a flash of green sparkles, bubbly awaiting a request.

"Could you go out and bring me a Asian Bleeding Heart?" To which it nodded excited and it was off, one thing that was great about familiars was that they vaguely understood things even though rightfully only he would understand the context of where the name of the flower came from.

There was a connection, not a good enough to be telepathic, but one that they can draw upon to know what he was talking about…like a certain flower.

With the little spirit on its way to pick a flower, to which Eve deduced, the field was once more engulfed in its peaceful, paradisical silence.

Not a true one however, afterall, he could feel the breeze, the singing songbirds, the return of the humming of his fellow human, and rustling of the flora around him be it swaying plants or Eve crafting.

After several minutes, something was placed on his head, opening his eyes, looking up? All he could see was a bunch of flowers crafted into the shape of a crown.

"…alright what's this?" Adam asked as he kept looking at the flowers placed on his head, as he looked back at a softly smiling Eve, very much pleased with herself.

"With the flower crown now…I do believe your are the most beautiful, brighter than any angel or star in the sky~" she softly stated with a giggling smile.

Adam found himself pausing as he was caught off guard by the complement and the sight of her expressive bubbly tease.

It was a lovely-

…A sudden skip in his chest, a burst of emotion, with a color on his hair that flashed so fast he may have imagined it.

…his heart did not just skip a beat-

Ding! Develop a small crush as your heart skips a beat! Bronze ticket!

SHUT THE FUCK UP! NO IT DIDN'T there's no way in hell I would have actually tripped over such a cringy line.

"T-thanks," Adam replied, his face trying to be more stoic, cursing the stutter even if the slight color on his cheeks—and the WHOLE lot on his hair—revealed his embarrassment, "…It's quite lovely," getting a slightly wider, happy smile in return as she dropped her head down to his chest as he felt his pulse speed up a bit.

…Oh my god what the fuck is happening…

Lilith raised a confused eyebrow, "And what is this supposed to be, Adam?" Lifting up a piece of paper with strange symbols written on it.

Eve had her's as she tilted her head and the paper in a variety of ways, trying to make heads from tails from her paper.

All the while Samael's upper portion of his head was poking out from under the table as he stared at his own sheet that he held against the sun, staring intensively at it.

There was currently two smug-looking Adams, which was a weird trick he picked up on, except one of them wasn't something that could interact with the world or be interacted with.

One of them was behind a wooden, thin block of some kind that we couldn't see behind of.

"Strategy Meeting," he simply said, as the copy (presumbly) to the side bounced on the seat with their own sheet of paper in their hands.

"Strategy…Meeting," she could barely grasp what both of those words mean together, before she asked, "For what?"

"How to handle the threats of The Outside," there were times where Adam would say it like that, The Outside, when referring to the outside of the Garden of Eden, and no one knows why he kept doing it, like some sort of joke only he understood.

"Alright…but what are these "roles" you keep mentioning?" She squinted her eyes at the certain part of the paper that Adam kept referring to.

"Our roles! Our class! How we mostly interact with any danger we would come across!" He exclaimed, excited over something…that Lilith couldn't even begin to understand over what.

"I'm a Barbarion Monk! You're a tactician Fighter in the making! Sam is a weird Paladin Druid! And Eve is a Phoenix Flame Sorcerer!" He said with stars in his eyes, spouting out words that made little to no sense.

Barbarion? Monk? Paladin? Phoenix? What did any of those words mean?? And a random compliment to her being a fighter being thrown her way.

We spent the afternoon playing this weird—yet strangely fun—game of strategy with Adam in which he calls himself the "Dungeon Master".

…Was Adam on shrooms again?

[Deviant Fashion]

|Common Trait|

It is no longer illegal or unacceptable to wear whatever you want to wear, people can still get uncomfortable with it, but legally or morally, there is nothing wrong with what you are wearing. Yes, that also means you can go into high society wearing whatever you were born with.

————————————————————

"So… what is this for again?"

"A Family Protrait," Adam easily explained to Samael who was one of the three that he was poising with.

Actually that was completely true, while he was standing with Lilith, Eve, and Samael in the wooden cabin that he had partially broken down and remodeled.

The one next to the others was simply a Void Mirror Image, a clone that was mirror useful as a distraction or visual situation with its inability to interact with the world.

The real him was across the room, painting on a blank canvas that took a painful amount of time to make, and gathering just about every color he would have needed to paint them.

The others were not sure if the hour they had to stand there were worth it, but this was one of the few times that Adam genuinely looked like he wanted it, so they reciprocated that with being a little more patient with this.

Or at least this was the case for Lilith and Samael—the latter bored out of his numbing mind—for Eve's side, she was more than happy to stand there for Adam to…from what she understood, create a image for memories.

On the humanoid side at least there was just three, one could not forget the other members of the family.

Julie being carried by Eve, William laying on Lilith's feet in a lazy manner, and all sorts of Junimos buzzing around at their feet.

Sadly, Brian, Adam's shark, was simply unable to be part of it as there…was simply no way to bring him together closer…the best they could do was set up a particular large pool Adam took a week setting up stones and rocks before filling it up with water.

Ding! Made a large Swimming Pool from scratch! Get a Silver Skill Ticket!

[Intermediate Stealth]

|Uncommon Skill|

You are experienced in the way of stealth, you know how to move silently, how to sneak up on people, how to check for traps, and how to gather information more effectively. You would be a qualified ninja grunt.

Suddenly, all of them could feel somebody rumble behind them slothfully and shift on her side.

And of course no one can forget the very large presence behind them, the large, and very white, chimeric beast that Adam had to built an alternative entrance called a "Garage" for her to enter from.

It's a good thing the remodeling included a very large middle area to walk around in.

Her name was Atesss Fohn Sotmop Dom Cosotaanh Wotscat Bomip Soutc Swsla Ayei

Botccoqd Lotlfw Voif Polwar Esotrikaot (Or the shortened 'Atess Fohn Esotrikaot')

Which was dumb becuase the nickname is already a acronym of the actual name of the beast.

The true name being Archibalda Thundertuft the Ever-So-Slightly Singed, First of Her Name, Scion of the Molten Cloud Peaks, Devourer of Moons (Part-Time), Collector of Shiny Objects That Are Absolutely Not Hers, Warden of the Seventh Cavern and Three-Quarters, Bringer of Mildly Inconvenient Prophecies, Scourge of Unlocked Treasure Chests, She Who Sneezes Lightning by Accident, Ancient Yet Emotionally Insecure, Bearer of the Crooked Crown of Questionable Destiny, Lady of the Left-Facing Wind, Vanquisher of Imaginary Foes, Protector of the Last Warm Rock, and Eternal Sovereign of the Realm Formerly Known as "Over There"

(I should have probably mentioned, but since it asexually reproduces and lays eggs…it's probably a all female species lol, or at the very least the progenitor it is)

Lilith found it dumb as all fuck as she gave a dead eye stare at Adam, Eve was left a confused mess to the point one may have spotted some steam leaving her ears as her eyes blanked, while Samael found it as the best name ever thought up with starry eyes.

But alas…after a lot of time passed…Adam was finished, with the work of many skills ranging from Ambidexterous, Intermediate Savoir Faire for the graceful and controlled movements, and even the precision of Seamster.

To be perfectly honest the majority of everyone here were tired of just standing around for so long, but endured…the sheer golden yellow of joy colored his hair so vibrantly, that they would have felt bad if they said anything.

"It's ready…"

As everyone stretched a moment or two, they took a time to take a look at the art…and were left stunned at the detail and how life like it was.

To them at the very least, for the modern era, there were obviously some flaws to it, but to them…it was a wonderful piece of art.

The vibrant and delicate colors that showed pure white and blue colors of Samael, the soft gentle smile from Eve, the stoic and yet oddly—if reluctant— caring nature of Lilith, and the tall stature of a smirking Adam (clone), with every other familiar of Adam's sprinkled in between.

In the end, everyone inwardly agreed it was worth standing around so long for it to be painted as it was hanged at the center of the wall, it would be the first thing seen for anyone that entered through the cabin wooden door.

Ding! Paint a high level painting and hang it up on your wall! Get a Silver Skill Ticket!
