Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9: Unusual Village

My eyes still stayed locked up on Iris's, I repeated myself again, "so you're saying our deal is broken?" Iris's eyes were now droopy and clogged up with tears, she wouldn't answer my question. I glared at her with so much damn irritation that it might as well be able to fill in the Grand Canyon. I squinted my eyes at her with my eyes still glaring at her, eyebrows furrowed all the way down to my eyes. "Iris you're going to tell me exactly what happened and why you're breaking your f*cking deal all of a sudden!" She staggered back and now had her mouth open, glitching between talking and shutting up. Now that I really looked at her it appeared her mouth was actually twitching, but that wasn't the important part. The issue was that she had broken her promise when I kept mine, I remembered the deal we made about the Vannel bag. And I clutched her bag tighter, staring down at it. I looked back at her, "two options Iris," I started, "either you keep the deal you promised." I paused trying to think of another option, "or I also downgrade the deal of holding your Vannel bag." "It isn't so fair huh if you get rid of my original privileges that you promised me, but I still have to complete your bidding." Iris was now twitching her eyes as well and kept grasping her hands a lot. "Shit," I heard her utter, but she kept backing away from me not answering any of my questions. "I should've known that you weren't really kind as I thought you were." I paused, thinking if I should say the next word or not, but I decided that Iris had it coming. "You really are a b*tch Iris, wolf in sheep's clothing's," I scoffed. Iris was still backing away from me, but now I was walking up to her with a steady pace. Probably just enough to intimidate Iris. But now I was also confused not only furious, why is Iris so scared of me? After all she was the rich one, she could do anything to me in seconds. So why was she backing away in fear, that should be what I was doing, but in anger instead of fear. Still though I kept my angry face glued on, "Iris," I say a little calmed down. But my angry face is still slightly plastered to my face, "just explain to me okay, what happened." I paused and then chuckled a bit, "it's not like I'm going to do anything to you, after all I was basically just a homeless orphan before you brought me here to your home." I was now slightly smiling, for the mood had definitely been lifted when I talked to Iris in a calm manner. Iris was also now moving closer to me slowly, rubbing her teary eyes at the same time. She sniffled once; I almost declared to her that she was permanently sick. But then I remembered that one, she doesn't live on the streets so she can easily get medicine. Second, she was probably just sniffling because she was crying, and that was a common trait that came along when you cried. Now that I thought about it, when I was chasing the sniper and I started crying then sniffled. I thought that I was sick, but it must have been a sniffle that came with crying. That explains why I didn't feel or act sick the whole time that I was here, now a big smile emerged onto my face. I was so concentrated in my thoughts though that I forgot that I had asked Iris to explain to me what had happened. But she kept quiet all the way till now, taking advantage of my silence, she also decided to keep quiet. Now that I noticed her now though, I realized that she might never tell me what happened. Why it happened, who happened, basically just all the details in general. "Does it have something to do with not being able to visit that friend?" Iris slowly nodded and proceeded to speak, "I was really upset so I went and got all these sweets," she said while staring at the table filled with bags of sweets.

In another area, far far away from where Nina had been staying with the woman who claimed to be named Iris. Was a village, filled with many unusual things that people don't use in these modern days. They lived a bit as if they were in the olden days, using swords, wells as a source of water at all times. There houses were made of animal wool and looked similar to what looked like tipis. The land in which they live on is very vast, plants and crops grown all over. This place looked nothing like how other people where living at the moment. People now used wooden and heavy bricks to make their homes, which were mostly decent in size. People used computers and phones to communicate, not in this area. It was like going back in time, when you were already in the modern world. A time machine with no effort, expect the effort put forth to survive given the terms in which they were living. "Fagget won't you come help me girl I need to farm this last crop before I head back home." Right Infront of the man, was a beautiful girl. She had long black hair that reached down to her hips, green eyes mixed with brown giving off a hazel hue. She had natural freckles perfectly in the middle of her face, although there wasn't exactly much. She also had a slight tan from working all those hours in the sun, but it was now her skin color for good. Since it had been like that for at least a year, which was not one bit normal. "Dad guess what I found today, she now said approaching her dad while trying to tie her hair up in a bun. "Sorry Fagget I really can't see it I have some work to get to, my boss said he might give me a raise." With that her father had left her, and she was left to farm the last crop. Her father had said for her to help him, not for him to ditch her and she is left to do all the work. 'Curse father,' she mused, 'if he ever does this one more time I will go to that old witch if I have to!'
