(Mōko underground base)
Goro and Yu were caught completely off guard.
Goro even more so, where had this thing come from?
Was it in the room this entire time?
How had they not noticed? They possesed some of the best senses among quirk users.
How did it sneak past every single member? They were in the most secure part of the base.
Why have the alarms not rung yet, who was in the control room? Was it sabotaged?
But judging by the surprise on Yu's face, it didn't look like the Shie Hasaikai had betrayed them either.
"Shit!"
But all those would have to wait, a fight was imminent and he wasn't sure he could beat this thing on his own.
He exchanged a quick glance with Yu and he seemed to have come to the same conclusion.
And an instant later, they both began moving.
Goro immediately unleashed a ferocious roar that released a shockwave, knocking the table over sending it flying towards the monster.
Yu followed up by producing large amounts of crystals from his arm and shooting them right after the shockwave.
The table hit the monster first, splitting into numerous fragments as it landed. The shockwave hit an instant later followed by the crystals.
The monster however, made no effort to dodge or block their attacks as it just stood there. Taking the attacks head on.
Their attacks seemd to have no effect on it other than giving them time to fall back and reposition themselves a bit better.
The monster looked at the fragments of the table all scattered across the floor before setting it's attention back on them and released a terrifying roar of its own as it spread it's arms out and numerous tendrils emerged from its back all of them pointed at them.
The sounds also seemed to have alerted the members outside as four members quickly barged in.
Which was a bad idea as the monster used the moment to pounce at the new arrivals, using its claws to decapitate the nearest one right infront of the surprised face of the others who had no time to react. It then bit off the head of the next person before launching spikes from it's tendrils at the other two, riddling their bodies full of them.
"So fast!" Goro thought, he didn't even have time to intercept the monster from killing his underlings. It moved before he could even adjust himself to release a second shockwave.
Knowing that if they fought seriously as they were now, they had no chance of making it out alive he quickly whispered something to Yu before launching another shockwave, this time putting his all into it. He followed up the attack by ripping his suit as his muscles grew, his form also began changing, become more feral as his nails became sharp claws and his teeth became beast like, his height also growing as he became a foot taller.
As soon as that was done he bent his legs and used all of his strength to jump towards the monster. He collided with the monster as he sent it flying with him towards the wall. Pinning it to the wall, he unleashed a series of blows and slashes before the monster had time to re-adjust itself, unfortunately his attacks seemed to have little to no effect. He did not cease his barrage of attacks however, it at least prevented the monster from counter attacking, and ultimately, his job was to just distract it for long enough and buy some time.
And he seemed to have succeeded in doing exactly that as the alarms soon began ringing. Everyone in the base should be rushing towards where they were in a few minutes now.
"MOVE!!" He then heard Yu shouting, he quickly moved out of the way as a giant crystal immediately ripped right through the monster, nailing it to the wall. The monster however didn't even seem to feel any pain as it just morphed it's arms into hammers and began striking the crystal embedded into its mid section.
Using this moment, he immediately retreated towards Yu. The Shie Hasaikai member seems to have used Trigger right after pressing the alarms to boost his quirk as the suitcase containing the drugs laid open on the floor in front of him.
He looked different too, there were numerous crystal fragments growing from his body. He looked like he was in pain as the crystals continued growing, covering him in an exoskeleton made of crystals.
He looked at himself in wonder as he examined his exoskeleton.
"You got another syringe?"
Yu quickly took out another syringe from a part of the suitcase before picking up a vial and tossing them towards him.
He quickly caught the two, returning to his base form to be able to handle the syringe. He filled the syringe with the drug before injecting it to his neck.
The effects immediately became apparent as he grew even bigger than his beast form, standing at a monstrous 9 feet. He looked like a monster in his own right, his senses, muscles, claws, they all became much more powerful and sharp. However he could also feel his mind slipping, like it was covered in a fog, not to mention this desire for violence.
But he had no time to further examine himself. The monster was breaking free. He quickly looked towards Yu and asked.
"Can you pin him further? This room is too small, I won't be able to move effectively as I am now, I need to break the wall. My underlings should be here soon too, we need a more advantageous position."
"Got it."
Yu then slammed his hands on the floor, crystals forming on them before they accelerated and began to spread towards the monster and covering him in a tomb of crystals.
Goro used this time to head towards the door, breaking it and then demolishing the walls to open up the space, he could also see his subordinates running towards him. He immediately began barking orders at them before they could even reach him.
"Those with ranged attacks move to the front NOW! Those with defensive quirks protect them! Do no-..."
He could not finish his sentence however as a tendril burst out from underneath him and dragged him back inside the destroyed room. He used his new and improved claws and strength to cut the tendril but several others also emerged from beneath and began restraining him as he struggled.
As he continued to hold out against the numerous tendrils he looked towards Yu, he was also struggling, the monster had already broken out of the tomb and was exchanging blows with him. Thankfully it didn't seem like it was able to get through the exoskeleton. But Yu was not damaging the monster either.
His subordinates soon reached the place but as soon as they arrived, the atmosphere changed again.
They all felt a chill in their spines, and a second later they heard Yu's scream of pain.
He looked towards them again and this time the battle looked completely one sided.
Yu was on his knees as a tendril buried itself in his stomach before coming out of his back. His exoskeleton completely ignored by the apendage. The monster meanwhile walked slowly towards the fallen man. When it finally reached him it just bent down at Yu, making him face it with his hand before opening it's maw and biting his head clean off.
His subordinates tried to stop it but it just ignored all of their attacks as if they were nothing.
The monster then looked at him, he was still struggling against the numerous tendrils which had now morphed into various weapons, it then looked towards his subordinates, all of them struggling to act for some reason and then at him again before smiling at him.
He suddenly felt like something was about to go very wrong and tried to warn his subordinates to be careful. But before he could even open his mouth, the monster unleashed another terrifying roar as it slammed it's tendrils into the ground.
A few seconds later the tendrils emerged from everywhere, covering the walls and exits, spreading throughout the base. When it was over, the whole place looked like the insides of an animal, all fleshy and red.
Then the walls began releasing a gaseous substance, then to the horror of Goro, all the members began experiencing the same thing. They began to grow in size, their forms becoming more feral and primal. Some thrashed around in pain while others screamed in pain, they were all the signs of Trigger usage.
"H-h-how?.."
There were only twenty vials, He and Yu had used two of them. The remaining vials were destroyed in the fight between the two. This didn't make any sense, how was it doing this?
Just as he was questioning the possibility of this happening, the tendrils stopped attacking. They just melded into the floor and disappeared. He was confused by this, but that confusion didn't last long as he suddenly felt rage.
He felt an uncontrollable rage and urge to kill within him, with what little remaining sanity he had within him he turned to warn his subordinates, trying to tell them to not come near him. But when he looked towards them, they were all showing the same symptoms as him. Their eyes shone with bloodlust and rage, all looking towards the monster.
Confused, he too looked towards the monster...he shouldn't have.
As soon as he laid his eyes at it his rage and bloodlust boiled over. He could barely control himself from attacking blindly, the same couldn't be said for the others. Some began to charge towards the monster, it just smiled at the charging foes before bandishing its claws, looking eager for the coming fight.
It was then that Goro finally understood the true goal of this monster. It didn't come here for the Trigger at all, this was it's true goal. It just used the Trigger as an excuse to engage him and Yu, playing with them and making them thing they had a chance, forcing him to call his underlings for backup. It just wanted this, this fight. It just wanted to gather all its prey before pumping them full of drugs to boost their quirks before making them fight it. They were just sport to it. A game.
This realization poured cold water on his rage and bloodlust, making him able to think clearly again.
'I have to escape! This is a hopeless fight, we were played. All the others have begun losing their minds, I have to escape before I end up like them."
However he couldn't even begin to move before a hole opened on the floor, it then released a cloud of gas right at him. He tried moving away from it but his mind began to be engulfed in rage once more. And this time, the rage was worse.
This monster had tried to play them, play Him! He was the Mad Tiger Goro! How dare a mere creature have the nerve! Did it think it could defeat all of them?! They were the mighty Mōko! They had survived when other gangs were being wiped out by the heroes, they were people not even the number one hero could take lightly! How dare this monster think it could do what not even All Might dared!
"I'LL KILL YOU!!!..*ROOOAAAARRRR..BEAST BLAST!!!"
Roaring his declaration Goro unleashed his ultimate attack, boosted by Trigger it could even rival the strength of President Mic's boosted attacks.
It knocked the charging members out of the way before advancing towards the monster at terrifying speed.
The attack however didn't even seem to phase the monster, as it just stood there, anchoring itself into the floor by fusing itself with the flesh. The attack continued on, hitting the walls. What would have destroyed an entire city block was blocked by the fleshy walls, harmlessly absorbed into it as it released a satisfied rumble.
The failure of his attack further enraged Goro, he couldn't even think anymore as he released a final primal roar before charging towards the monster. The others who had not attacked initially seemed to consider him their leader even in their enraged state as as soon as he attacked, they all followed him releasing roars and growls of their own.
The monster also released a roar of its own as it summoned it's tendrils again, this time it's arms also morphed into terrifying blades, it released itself from the fusion with the floor before charging towards the advancing horde of mutant monsters.
The two forces met in the middle of their charges as a cheetah like mutant reached the monster first, it tried to pounce on the monster but it was quickly countered as the monster swung it's blades and hacked it straight across the torso, discarding it like a spoiled piece of meat. A second later Goro was on him, trying to tackle him again while charging his attack in his mouth, the monster grew another pair of arms and clashed with him, using it's blades to dig into his back making him dispel his attack while the tendrils shot numerous spikes at the airborne mutants that tried to get close.
The monster then changed it's blades back into arms before using them to support the other pair of arms, lifting him up and slamming him into the charging crowd. It then jumped into the air and bit down one of the bird like mutants before falling into the crowd. Clawing and hacking at them as they bombarded it with various attacks and techniques, soon it was an all out brawl, limbs were bitten off, heads devoured, throats slashed, there was no grace in the actions, no technique remained as the killing continued.
One frog like mutant tried to restrain it with its tongue but it's tongue was cought and used to reel in the mutant before it was punctured with holes courtesy of the sharp tendrils on the monsters back. A gorrila like mutant tried to slam it into the ground but the monster just dug into his stomach before devouring him from the inside, emerging out of his back while ripping out his spine and skull and using it to bash another cat like mutant, crushing both of their skulls.
There was no rational thought left in the mutants, no remorse for their friend and comrads, no fear, no hesitation, just rage, endless rage.
As the slaughter continued, cries, roars and screams were all that could be heard, but no one would hear them, the entire underground had been covered by the flesh and made so that no sound or vibration would ever reach the surface.
Goro was one of the most relentless mutants as he continued to charge at the monster just to be blown back several times, spines were used to strangle others while other were eaten from the inside out, others had their skulls split, crushed, eaten, others were left without a torso, some hung by their own intestines and entrails.
One particular bull like mutant charged at the monster building terrifying momentum as it advanced, the monster roared into the air as it too charged straight at the bull, when the two collided, the shockwave sent the nearby mutants flying into spines that grew from the walls or straight onto the various broken bodies and bones, some getting impaled while others broke their bones.
The bull like mutant and the monster however continued to try and over power each other, he had stored up enough momentum to give the monster some difficulty in trying to overpower him. The monster just laughed, holding the horns of the bull using both pairs of arms, it then grew a third pair of arms before using them to wrap around the head of the bull before twisting his neck upwards, there was a loud crack as the bull crumpled onto the floor.
By now there were only a few mutants left, most of them were not even able to fight anymore, some were unconscious while some were bleeding out from various parts of their bodies.
"*ROAARRR*"
Goro was still going strong, but that was due to him being knocked back all the time instead of being put down. Now, he was the only one who could be said to pose a fun challenge.
"*SCRRREÀAAACCHHHH*"
The monster replied in kind as they clashed for the final time, Goro used his bulk to slam the monster into the ground while he bagan pounding away at it, using his shockwaves at point blank to further subdue it. The monster responded by grabbing his head and using it as a platform to flip itself up in an unnatural manner before they both began ripping and tearing away at each other. Flesh and blood flying everywhere a s the two continued this bloody dance of death.
But only one was receiving damage while the other seemed to be able to do this forever, and with a final shove, the monster plunged it's arms straight into the heart of Goro before grabbing it and ripping it out, finally ending the massacre.
"*SSCCCRREEEEAAAAAHHHHH*"
The monster released a final roar of victory before devouring the heart, it then followed up by biting the head off of Goro's corpse.
After it was done it looked around at the carnage it had left behind, bodies and corpses littered every where. It released a final roar before it began to recall the fleshy walls that covered the underground, absorbing it within itself but leaving the corpses and injured bodies as they were, it then activated it's camouflage and disappeared into nothingness.
Later, the police would receive an anonymous report and what happened here would soon be called the worst massacre ever recorded after the appearance of quirks due to the sheer level of violence and carnage displayed.
It got the whole country in an uproar as this was the first case of something like this happening in the forty years since All Might became the symbol of peace, and that too right under Tokyo.
This case also exposed the relationship between the Mōko gang and a major corporation, further diminishing the trust of the public on the heroes and the Public Safety Commission.
But it would forever be remembered as the 'Carnage incident' after the testimonies of the remaining survivors, who could not even look at the colour red the same way, experiencing irrational fear and rage when they did.
