"Alpha Blackwood," he said, ignoring me completely. "I'm surprised to see you brought your omega to a leader's meeting."
"Head of Training," Ezra corrected, his voice sharp. "Nessa is a pack official, not 'my omega', and you should address her directly if you have something to say."
The man's jaw tightened. "Very well. Miss Gray, your presence here is... unusual. These meetings are traditionally for Alphas and their Betas only."
"Then it's good we're starting new traditions," I said coolly. "The old ones were due for an update."
Several nearby Alphas chuckled. The disapproving man glared and walked away.
"That was Alpha Brennan," Ezra murmured. "One of the old guards. He's been complaining about The Nightshade's policies for years."
The meeting itself was tense. Several traditional Alphas raised concerns about "progressive packs undermining established hierarchies." They specifically mentioned The Nightshade's treatment of omegas and our acceptance of refugees from other packs.
