Third person perspective (in class)

The homeroom teacher announced tiredly "Things have settled down. Now its time for clubs and activities." She gestured to the board with a list of clubs. "Pick one to four clubs and write it on a piece of paper and place it in that box. I will be grading papers.

The classroom hummed with the sudden, chaotic energy of students whispering and scraping their chairs backward. At the front, the homeroom teacher had already tuned them out, her red pen gliding over the papers.

Zane leaned back in his chair, a bored smirk playing on his lips as his eyes locked onto Kiori's desk. With a subtle flick of his fingers, a faint, purple haze rolled off his hand. The slip of paper Kiori had just finished writing on suddenly hovered, lifting into the air right before her eyes.

"Hey! You demon guy! Give me my paper back!" Kiori hissed, her voice a sharp, furious whisper as she swatted desperately at the air. She muttered something entirely unflattering under her breath, her face flushing with irritation.

Zane only smirked wider, guiding the floating paper right into his hand. "Aww, the chatterbox suddenly got mad?" he teased, scanning the neat handwriting. "Who even likes literature anyway? And volleyball. What an interesting combination."

"You have the weirdest mana I've ever seen. Purple?" Yukiri cut in, stepping toward Zane's desk and reaching out to grab his arm. She stared at the faint violet glow with a mix of fascination and frustration. "And why can't I—no, why can't anyone overlap your mana—"

Before Yukiri could pry any further into the strange mechanics of his energy, Kiori lost her patience. Bringing her hand down in a swift, sharp, she smacked Zane's arm.

The physical jolt shattered his focus, the paper falling between them.
