Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Old Friends and Arrogance

Liu Yun was very puzzled. Ever since he was severely injured and his status as a Martial Artist was questioned, he had become a well-known pitiful person in this community.

In these chaotic times, the world's coldness was undisguised. Who exactly was this visitor? He had a thought, and tried to use the crystal in his hand to detect the visitor outside the door, testing the capabilities of his Mechanical Race Clone.

"According to the data in the main body's mind, this is Wang Tianba, a former comrade of the host from the Dojo of Limits."

The crystal, through the thick security door, revealed the person's identity. Liu Yun looked through the peephole: a familiar bald head, a thick cigar, and a straight back, exuding a heroic aura. This was Wang Tianba, his former comrade with whom he had gone on missions. The Mechanical Race Clone's ability was working perfectly.

"Brother Tian? What are you doing here? Aren't you out on a mission?"

Liu Yun opened the door. Wang Tianba didn't act like a stranger and walked straight in, speaking as he entered.

"Hey, didn't I just finish a mission and come to check on a sick friend? Contributing to society, you know. Are you taking traditional Chinese medicine now?"

Wang Tianba was completely at ease, wandering around, seeing the stove and the traditional Chinese medicine stewing in Liu Yun's kitchen. He was also an experienced Jianghu veteran, and a subtle suspicion allowed him to guess what had happened here.

This Wang Tianba was a small leader in the Dojo of Limits. He had subordinates like Xiao Wu and Sun Feiyan, all of whom were qualified Martial Artists.

In the past, Liu Yun often went on missions with them, but now things were different. Liu Yun had withdrawn from the front lines of combat and gradually drifted apart from his old friends.

"What are you thinking now? You don't want the Martial Artist-exclusive villa anymore? Ashamed? No one harmed you. I saw your physical report from the Dojo of Limits. Are you feeling better now? Don't do anything reckless."

A hint of concern appeared on Wang Tianba's somewhat tired face. After all, it was camaraderie, but Liu Yun's physical problems were very difficult to deal with.

"I'm feeling better. I've been drinking traditional Chinese medicine recently. Traditional Chinese medicine is amazing; it can cure all diseases. My body will recover very quickly."

Liu Yun indicated that he was almost well. In reality, the advanced technology of the Automaton Race had directly cured him; the traditional Chinese medicine was merely to improve his physical fitness.

This made Wang Tianba roll his eyes. He thought this was pure self-deception, and that Liu Yun would still end up paralyzed.

"Traditional Chinese medicine is an excellent culture, and it does have some mysterious aspects, but there's been a lot of controversy in the past two years! You can't rely on such things to treat illness; you still need to trust modern medicine, which has integrated the latest technology."

This person, who looked like a gang boss, said that Liu Yun should trust science. Of course, this wasn't to disparage traditional Chinese medicine; it simply meant that the effects of herbal medicine were still limited.

However, he had already cured himself, so his attitude was very firm.

"I've taken medicine, and I'm clearly cured! You shouldn't spread rumors!"

Liu Yun explained again, but Wang Tianba didn't believe him at all. He thought a lot, knowing the world was difficult, but many things still needed to be made clear.

"Your illness is too severe. How can herbal medicine cure it? Alas, I won't talk about you anymore. Take care of yourself!"

Wang Tianba sighed deeply and sprang from his chair. He understood that all of this was too cruel for Liu Yun.

But he couldn't do anything either. Where was there any warmth in this world? Just making this trip was enough to show that Wang Tianba wasn't indifferent.

"But you need to think about it: besides me, those people basically forgot about you after you left! I saw the Martial Artist strength recovery test you submitted. They said they didn't have time to open a test just for you. In that case, you might have to join the newcomers."

Wang Tianba lit a cigar and said this. Liu Yun was somewhat surprised by the news. What was going on? Wasn't it just a simple test of basic abilities?

Starting over with newcomers would truly be a humiliation. His strength should not be handled this way at all.

"They can do that? Truly, when a person leaves, the tea cools. Hmph, or perhaps they simply don't believe I can cure myself?"

Liu Yun thought to himself that there needed to be a reasonable explanation for his sudden recovery, and the matter of his Mechanical Race Clone absolutely could not be exposed. He had to keep this secret tightly guarded, forever.

"That's right! No one will waste time on someone who has lost all their strength. I came to inform you to be mentally prepared! I'm leaving."

Wang Tianba was quick to speak. This era allowed no tears; even Liu Yun had to face the law of the jungle. He saw Wang Tianba out of the community, then returned, pondering what to do the entire way.

Liu Yun used to be a high-ranking warrior, capable of wielding 5000kg of force with a swing of his arms, and was highly respected in this community. But now? Aside from a few old friends who still came to see him, others truly didn't take him seriously at all.

As Liu Yun was lost in his thoughts, slowly walking back into the community, a sudden commotion broke the surrounding tranquility.

He looked up and saw a group of young, spirited men and women surrounding a robust but slightly immature-looking young man. The young man, wearing a tight-fitting combat suit, was an Elementary warrior. He stood in the center of the community with an undeniable posture, and the gazes directed at him from those around him held both awe and a hint of dissatisfaction.

This new Elementary warrior was named Li Lei, and he quickly gained fame in the community with his extraordinary strength and arrogant demeanor. He thought highly of himself and treated the older residents with arrogance and rudeness, as if everything in the community should make way for him.

After all, Li Lei had truly become a new noble. A Martial Artist of his level at such a young age might even become a general in the future. Those people were too busy trying to curry favor with him.

"Oh, isn't this the once-glorious Liu Yun? How did you end up like this now? Not even watching where you're going?" Li Lei's voice wasn't loud, but it was enough for everyone around to hear, filled with sarcasm and provocation.

As soon as these words were spoken, a murmur instantly arose among the surrounding crowd. However, no one dared to provoke a warrior with a promising future for the sake of a cripple. In fact, a few sycophants had already begun to blame Liu Yun for not knowing his place, which also served to please the esteemed Martial Artist.

Liu Yun was stunned by this sudden mockery, and then an indescribable anger surged within him. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions, and looked calmly at Li Lei, who was also an acquaintance.

"The road is wide. Why do you insist on blocking me? If there's nothing, let me pass."

Li Lei sneered at his words: "Hmph, blocking you? Do you even deserve for me to block you? You're blocking my path, now get out of my way! You should just stay at home now and stop making a fool of yourself."

These words enraged Liu Yun, but he thought that he hadn't yet mastered the abilities of his Mechanical Race Clone, and exposing it too early would affect future developments. A small impatience could ruin a great plan.

Although he was only staring coldly at Li Lei now, ready to activate the ability transfer of his Mechanical Race Clone at any moment, if Li Lei said one more word, he wouldn't care about anything else and would directly punch this idiot to death! The ability transfer could make Liu Yun a general for an hour, which would make him invincible in this community!

A follower beside Li Lei mentioned Li Tianba's name, who was also a high-ranking warrior, known for his generosity and loyalty to friends! This made Li Lei reconsider. Liu Yun still had old friends who might intervene if Li Lei resorted to violence.

"Brother Lei, the people around this old man will definitely scatter too! After all, he's a cripple now. Let's deal with him later."

The person beside him suggested this, and Li Lei was immediately intimidated. He also feared a high-ranking warrior causing him trouble, especially since he had only recently become a Martial Artist.

"Alright! Let's let this cripple off for now!"

Li Lei laughed wildly, but for now, he no longer insisted on the matter. After a cold snort, he left with a large group of people.

This also angered Liu Yun. He knew the reason: he had previously stopped Li Lei from harming others, and this person would definitely try to harm him again later.

"Hmph, I'll go test my strength now. I think this time my power will reach the general level, and then I'll kill you!"

Liu Yun thought about going back and taking more of the traditional Chinese medicine for recuperation. The Mechanical Race Clone's computational power provided a very simple yet effective prescription that could enhance his strength. When these people found out that he had not only not lost his power but had also advanced a step further! He wondered what kind of expressions they would have then.
