Chapter 35 - Combat Wisdom

"Well, Zushi, did you see everything?"

As the match between Allen and Sadaso concluded and the spectators began to file out of the stands, Wing finally addressed his disciple sitting beside him.

Zushi hurriedly nodded earnestly. "Yes. Wing-sensei. I saw it. He really is strong! I'm afraid he didn't even use ten percent of his strength when he fought me."

"Then, did you see clearly the ability he used during the fight?" Wing asked again.

"Yes. He used Aura to enhance the weapon in his hand!" Zushi answered without hesitation.

"And what else?" Wing was clearly unsatisfied with this answer.

"What else? Are you referring to that dragon-like Nen Beast?" Zushi's tone carried a hint of uncertainty.

"No. I'm referring to the sword in his hand. Do you think he conjured it with a Nen ability, or was it a real object that he summoned using a different kind of Nen ability?"

As he spoke, Wing turned and fixed his sharp gaze on the boy beside him.

Evidently, Wing had been using Gyo throughout the entire battle. He had clearly seen that there were no traces of Aura activation when the "DK Sword" appeared, and he intended to use this as a teaching moment for his apprentice.

But for Zushi, who hadn't been learning Nen for very long, this was clearly a bit beyond his scope. He furrowed his brows in deep thought for a long time before shaking his head with a pained expression. "I'm sorry, Wing-sensei. I don't know."

Hearing this, a faint smile appeared on Wing's face. He gently patted his disciple's head and said, "See, this is the biggest gap between you and that boy named Allen. It's not something simple that can be quantified like strength, agility, constitution, or Aura capacity, but rather the wisdom demonstrated in combat. He has already learned to mislead others to hide his true abilities. In fact, that sword wasn't Conjured; it was summoned by another power unknown to anyone."

"Combat... wisdom?" It was undoubtedly the first time Zushi had heard this unfamiliar term.

"That's right. Combat wisdom. You must understand that in the world of Nen, everyone's abilities are different, one might even say infinitely varied. When two opponents are evenly matched in strength but neither knows the other's Nen ability, who do you think has the higher chance of winning?" Wing posed a hypothetical question.

"Is it... the one with more experience?" Zushi blinked blankly.

For a boy not yet twelve years old, this question was indeed too complex and difficult.

Wing smiled noncommittally. "Experience is indeed a very important part. But in battles between Nen users, the role experience plays is actually limited, especially when you are completely ignorant of the opponent's ability. In such cases, whoever knows better how to deceive their opponent and conceal their own ability will firmly hold the initiative. So, I'm teaching you a key point now: never easily expose your trump card during a fight."

"Understood! I will work desperately hard with Allen as my goal!" Zushi shouted with full vigor.

"Hahahaha! That's the spirit! Let's go back and double today's training volume!" Wing laughed as he stood up.

"Eh? D-Double?!"

A look of shock and despair instantly appeared on Zushi's face, as if he were staring at a demon.

...

Meanwhile, back in their room, Allen had established an unbreakable contract with Bodoro via the Red Dragon. He then looked up and asked seriously, "Are you ready?"

"Of course! My fists have been itching for a fight!" the martial artist responded with excitement.

"Excellent! Then... Teleport!"

The moment his voice fell…

The two instantly vanished from their spot, reappearing suddenly in a place resembling a medieval courtyard.

[Dungeon: Scarlet Monastery – Library]

Looking at the incredibly realistic architecture and furnishings around him, and the lifelike people in the distance, Bodoro couldn't help but exclaim, "Unbelievable! Can... can Nen create this too? Nen truly is an incredible and miraculous power!"

"Remember. You must never reveal a single word about this to anyone, or you will be instantly devoured by the Red Dragon," Allen warned again tirelessly.

He had considered bringing someone into a dungeon for a long time and ultimately decided to trust the martial artist's character.

After all, Bodoro had entrusted his life to him. In return, it was only natural to share this training ground, which was practically a cheat code.

Otherwise, given the rate at which Allen's strength was growing, no matter how hard Bodoro tried, he would never keep up and would only lose motivation amidst constant frustration.

"Understood! Please rest assured, I will guard this secret even if I die. Now, can I start fighting those enemies?"

The straight-laced Bodoro gave his guarantee without hesitation, his gaze fixed on the Scarlet Elites in the distance, his entire body trembling with excitement.

"Go ahead! Just be careful. If you encounter danger, run to the entrance as fast as you can. I'll be here to provide backup."

With that, Allen paid no further attention to Bodoro. Instead, he used the Red Dragon's power to summon Sadaso's Nen ability, "Invisible Left Arm," intending to use it as a foundation for deeper development.

In his view, this ability was truly a weapon that integrated both offense and defense, and even possessed powerful crowd-control attributes.

Especially after Sadaso's final Vow and Limitation enhanced it, giving it teleportation properties. The next step was to combine it with Conjuration and Enhancement to transform the originally invisible hand into a visible one, thereby drastically increasing its power and destructive force.

On the other side, having received permission, Bodoro let out a shout and charged directly at the nearest enemy, beginning his practical combat training.

Although he hadn't yet learned advanced techniques like Ken or Ko, relying on his martial artist's body tempered by a thousand hammers, he managed to clear the first few waves of enemies at the entrance in no time, officially entering the inner courtyard.

It had to be said that Enhancers were truly blessed in certain aspects; with just a little training, they could immediately unleash considerable combat power.

Soon, after gauging the enemies' strength against his own, Bodoro was no longer satisfied with fighting just two or three enemies at a time. He started pulling multiple groups to train his reaction speed and evasion skills.

For a while, the entire Scarlet Monastery Library echoed with his shouts as he threw punches.

It couldn't be helped; that was just the nature of Enhancers.

They didn't care about shame or anything like that; they did whatever felt good physically and mentally. Some would even shout out the names of their moves during battle.

Perhaps this could also be classified as a type of Vow and Limitation, increasing the power of a "special move" by shouting its name and charging up.

In this immersive and incredibly realistic combat environment, Bodoro's understanding of Nen deepened. Eventually, under the threat of the boss's magic attacks, he unconsciously used parts of Ken and Ko techniques, ultimately successfully clearing the Scarlet Library.
