Chapter 1 - Execution Of A Traitor

"Do you have any last words, you traitor?"

The deep, handsome male voice echoed with authority. The sound of heavy rain and frightening thunder mixed with his voice, making it even scarier.

"Execute him."

"Execution! Bastards like him who betray us must be executed!"

"Who would have guessed he would betray humanity?"

"Yeah, he is just trash! He betrayed the trust of all humans!"

A young man whose beauty could only be described as heavenly was tied to an execution pole in front of millions of people, just like how Christ was tied to a cross.

"I didn't betray anyone… I'm not a traitor…"

His voice was extremely weak and full of static. Blood was pouring out from every part of his body like a river.

"Are these your last words?" That same deep, handsome voice echoed again.

"Why? What did I even do?" He lifted his head with difficulty and looked at his friend, or at least the person he once considered a friend, with his torn eyes.

He couldn't understand. Why? What did he do?

"Being too powerful is a sin, my dear."

Before he could answer, a female voice spoke.

"Heh, nonsense. All of this is nonsense, just an excuse. Why? Why did you do this?" Reinh looked at the woman he once loved, one of the most beautiful and powerful women in the world.

When he looked at her, his eyes became completely red. one could see the anger and hatred inside them.

"You want a real reason? Fine. I hate you. You know, people always said things like 'look at her, she is the Hero's woman, she only became famous because of him' and blah blah."

"Those words hurt me a lot. I wanted to be admired for myself. I wanted to be worshipped for my own achievements, not because I was the Hero's woman."

"And finally I got a chance, by working with him. And look, now everyone knows me for who I am…"

"Ha… ha…" Reinh laughed, but the laugh came from deep pain, not joy.

The woman he loved, the woman he was ready to die for, the woman who he slaughtered half of the Demon Continent for a single tear of her… betrayed him for something like this?

Maybe he really couldn't understand the thoughts of the woman he loved. Maybe something that meant nothing to him was the biggest pain in her life.

But betrayal? No reason or excuse can justify betrayal.

"So in the end, it was him, huh?" A look of realization appeared in his eyes. If there was one person who could put him in this situation, it was his oldest brother.

The current Patriarch of the Vorhelm Clan, one of the four ruling Clans of the world.

"Have you finally gone crazy?" another voice said.

"He was always crazy… oh no, sorry, he was always an idiot." This time all five of them laughed.

Reinh couldn't even answer their insults. His core was completely destroyed, all his power was gone. He had nothing left.

"Why did he do this?" His voice was so weak it sounded like a mosquito buzzing.

His body was basically paralyzed. The only reason he was still alive was because of his Demi-god Soul.

"You really don't know? Of course it was because of the Star of Eternal Ruins."

Reinh's pupils widened. It was like he heard something he was never supposed to hear, a secret no one should have known.

"I must say, you really tried hard to hide it. we really didn't notice that you had something like that."

"You should kill me… no, make sure I die. Because even if the smallest part of my soul survives and reincarnates, I will kill all of you in the most brutal way possible, and I will hunt you even if it takes until the end of time and space."

His words dropped like a heavy weight, full of killing intent far beyond anything humanity had ever seen.

When his killing intent was released, all five of them felt a cold chill in their spines. Every atom in their bodies trembled from fear.

"This bastard," A huge muscular man punched Reinh in the stomach so hard that his organs were crushed. A bucket of blood spilled out of his mouth.

Yes, they were afraid of him. Even when he was in his weakest state, his killing intent was something none of them could handle.

"Enough playing with him. He is already humiliated enough." Athena said coldly.

"Athena is right, better to kill him quickly. His luck is stupidly high."

"No problem, I will kill him."

"No! He is mine. Only I am allowed to kill him."

Athena's voice was completely serious. She clearly wouldn't accept a 'no.'

"Of course, of course." No one dared reject her. Besides being the strongest, the one who followed her around like a dog was also the strongest after her.

"Heh, so I'm going to be killed by my love? How romantic." Reinh spoke with a voice full of hatred while trying to endure the pain attacking every atom of his body.

"Ugh… ah… it hurts… damn it… so this is what those bastards felt when I killed them, huh?"

The light in his eyes slowly started turning black.

"Have a nice life." Athena pulled his heart out of his chest. Unlike a normal human heart, this one glowed with light, and one could feel his divine essence inside it.

Reinh barely heard her final words, but he didn't understand them. Not that it mattered.

His head fell forward. His soul and life force were gone. In his final moments he didn't even try to fight, because it was useless…

He was sure this was his end. His old comrades removed every possibility. They would never let a monster like him live or reincarnate.

"He is dead."

"Who would have thought that the legendary man known as the Blade of oblivion, destroyer of the Three Calamities and the holder of the Star of Eternal Ruins, would actually be executed by us?"

"Haha, right? This is a huge achievement! We must make sure no one ever forgets this."

"He is dead, it is over. The more important thing is the Empire. As you promised, you must help me take control."

"What are you worried about? You have the support of the Patriarch of Vorhelm Clan."

"Even without him, nothing will go wrong. We have the support of the people." All of them looked at the crowd.

Humanity, to them, was nothing more than a group of puppets they could play with however they wanted.

For example, they just executed one of the Heroes of this era, and the foolish humans supported them.
