(A/N: We are finally gonna get a look at Terra and the Emperor, also Grimgor had appeared in the Patreon chapters as well as the first lemon scene.)

-Terra, Segmentum Solar-

Once called a shining jewel of the Federation, Terra was the cradle of humanity, the world in which humanity was born before leaving it's embrace for the stars.

Yet even after leaving their cradle, the planet still remained one of the most important worlds for the human race even if spiritually.

Alas with the coming of the Age of Strife and Millennia's of constant civil wars and techno-barbarism had destroyed much of the once beautiful world's Biosphere.

Yet it still possessed remnants of it's ancient biosphere which now under Terra's new ruler the Emperor of Mankind were in the attempts of hopeful restoration back to life.

--------------------------------------------------

With the end of the Unification wars, Luna's conquest and the Treaty of Mars, The Emperor had put his attention on things he considered of paramount importance at the current stage.

The successful absorption of the other planets of Sol System within the nascent Imperium.

The consolidation of power on Terra as well as the construction of the Astronomican on the Hollow mountain.

And time so that newly made Space marine Legions could grow into an appropriate size for the upcoming Great Crusade.

Much work was still to be done but at this moment he was telepathically called over by a old friend.

In a spacious chamber of the still constructing Imperial Palace in the Himalazian mountain range walked a giant of a man clad in golden high tech armour.

His features were not completely discernible but he was without a doubt a very handsome and strong man, he was followed closely by a squad of similarly golden clad warriors holding guardian spears.

This was the Emperor of mankind. The Ruler of Terra and the highest entity in the newly burgeoning Imperium of mankind.

An extremely rare perpetual who had lived for nearly 30,000 years and the strongest Psyker of the human race.

"It's about time! do you have any idea how much work piles up when we don't address it!" Said a robed old man grasping a burning force staff.

If this was anyone else even if the Emperor did not mind the tone his bodyguards the Custodes on the other hand would have struck the insolent mortal down without impunity.

But this was in fact not a normal man, instead he was Malcador the Sigilite, a fellow perpetual albeit a much younger one than the Emperor as well as a powerful Psyker in his own right.

He was also the Emperor's right hand man, his most trusted friend and collaborator.

Normally the Emperor would telepathically communicate with others or have his accompanying Custodes talk for him but when it came to Malcador, he always conversed himself.

The Emperor gave his old friend a small smile as he sat in the opposite chair of the table Malcador sat on, while wordlessly reinforcing the seat so that it could withstand his weight.

"What matters trouble you old friend?"

Malcador rolled his eyes at his leader/friend wondering why he wouldn't just for Terra's sake decrease his damn size instead.

The Old Psyker gave him some documents that the Emperor needed less than a moment to go through with his Psychic power.

"Understandable, but they would at most require some adjustments from the original plans of actions, I don't believe this is what would have troubled you so much"

"It has to do with one of the legions, The second legion to be exact" Malcador sighed as he took a sip of wine.

This got the Emperor's attention as he slightly frowned since the legions were far too important for their future plans to have a problem significant enough for Malcador to seek him out.

"Explain"

"It's more to do with their gene-seed" Malcador got up. "It's better I show you as well while explaining"

The Emperor gave him a nod as he, Malcador and the accompanying Custodes walked and made their way to the underground area of the Royal Palace.

The area where human hopefuls were taken after selection to undergo the Astarte Gene surgeries to become full fledged Astartes.

"You already know the status of the other legions and despite the problems each of them are still being filled with a steady supply of Space marines"

"But the problem is that I myself only found out recently that unlike the other legions the 2nd Legion currently has not a single Astarte to it's name"

The Emperor's frown deepened as his mind swam with thousands of possibilities.

"The reason? was the gene-seed compatibility too low? or was it too unstable?"

Malcador gave a sardonic smile. "Oh if only it was the case", They finally exit the passage and enter the underground area's labs.

All the scientists and researchers gave a deep bow to them but were barely acknowledged as Malcador approached a certain station and picked a Vial from it.

"This is the processed genetic material of the 2nd Primarch"

The Emperor took the vial from Malcador and found himself confused as shocking as it was.

For one, the Vial of red processed liquid had no mutation markers even more surprising was the Warp signature in it was calm and stable.

The Emperor knew just how impossible that should have been, Gene-seed was made by the genetic material of the Primarchs, and the Primarchs themselves had a very close connection with the Warp.

Due to this mutation in the Gene-seed due to warp taint was not surprising for example the 9th Legion the Revenants had a powerful thirst for Blood which they called the Red Thirst.

Even the 13th and the 1st Legions which had all in all stable and safe gene-seed lineages had traces of the Warp mutation.

But from what he perceived from the Vial, the gene-seed of the 2nd Legion was in a completely perfect state.

Stable and pure Warp signature, No harmful mutation signs.

Then why in the name of humanity wasn't there a single Astarte made for the 2nd Legion!?

Malcador gestured a nearby gene artificer to come closer as the Emperor frowned at the shaking man.

He telepathically communicated.

"Explain! Why has there not been initiates for the second legion"

The gene artificer shook in the presence of the Emperor as he gulped. "Your Majesty I swear on my life, it was not due to falsehood or dereliction"

"It's....It's.....we don't even know HOW TO!?" The man blurted out in panic.

The Emperor's frown deepened as he waited for the man to elaborate.

"We....know my lord how to process the genetic material to make usable gene-seed, which we would then use to cultivate the required organs for the surgeries"

"But no matter what method we tried we weren't able to cultivate the Vials containing the 2nd Primarch's genetic material to cultivate the Organs"

The Emperor was now surprised at what he heard and looked at Malcador.

"He's right, in fact I can say for certainty the Vial you are holding is the most processed product we were able to make, you can even consider it a gene-seed on it's own"

Now the Emperor understood why this was happening and indeed the 2nd Primarch genetic material did prove to be different compared to his brothers.

So it stood to reason it will also require a different approach.

"I understand, for the meantime leave matters for making Astartes for the 2nd legion to me, I will conduct my own tests proceed with the usual work for the other legions."

The gene-surgeon exhaled and bowed in thanks to the Emperor and Malcador before retreating back to his station.

Malcador gave the Emperor a look. "What do you make of this?"

"For the moment, Nothing old friend. But maybe this would be welcome news as soon as I conduct some tests and see how it can be used instead of the surgeries to make Astartes"

"At most it will take a year or less for me to understand and make a alternative method for it"

Malcador nodded at that. "And how goes your search?"

This time the Emperor frowned again. "I have found clues regarding some of the Primarchs whereabouts as I scoured the Warp but until the Astronomican is lit and the Great Crusade begins I can not be sure"

"Then I wish you luck on your search"

"Sadly luck is something we do not have much in stock off" The Emperor muttered as he and his Custodes started making their way out of the area.

All the while the Emperor looked at the vial in his hands thinking of how the 2nd had developed to warrant such changes.

Just as long as it's not detrimental for humanity.
