Savier remembered the first time he dated someone. Actually, he did not even know if he could call it dating since they only lasted for two days.
He was in the first year of high school. It was a time when a lot of his friends were getting into a romance frenzy for some reason. Additionally, it was a co-ed school, and it became easier to connect with the opposite subgenders.
In recent years, co-ed schools have been more common and popular than an all-alpha or all-omega ones than before.
At like 15, they had yet to officially differentiate, but the signs were there. Still, pheromones had yet to be included in the scenario. So, pheromone attraction did not really matter in this area.
Savier, as a crown prince, was the most popular in the school. He also had the appearance and received a lot of confessions. Though no one openly confessed to him.
In high school, hierarchy was there, but not to the point where no one talked to him. They had yet to have the calculations of the adult, at least most of them. Savier also had his friends and a normal school life.
He found it very puzzling at that point. Why did everyone seem inclined to have a romantic encounter?
"Why? Isn't it normal? Liking someone?" One of his friends retorted.
And, Savier thought about it and found it reasonable.
The thing was, he could not relate to them. Savier suddenly became more perceptive or observant, whatever the right word, of his surroundings then.
He discovered that he was not attracted to anyone. Sure, maybe because he was young and had yet to find someone to like.
As days passed and the romance frenzy seemed to intensify around him, he found it harder and harder to relate. So, he asked a friend.
"How to know if I like someone?"
Savier thought this friend was an expert, having a lot of experience in the romance department. He was not unaware of the definition, but did not actually know how to feel that.
"Like... wanting to talk to them, be close with them, be with them. And, ah, if you feel like your heart is bursting once you see them."
Savier found his words very unfamiliar, especially as they came from him. But, did not dwell on that, because he could only fall silent.
He thought of Sir Rylan at that moment. He did not know why. But when those words were uttered, he could only imagine one person.
Savier laughed it off then, thinking, of course, that friend could not possibly be an expert at that age.
Liking Sir Rylan?
This was the first time Savier had dreamed vividly of Sir Rylan. He was only there practicing while he was watching. That was his dream and nothing else.
But... Savier was sweating when he woke up.
He realized... maybe? Just maybe, he liked him a bit.
After all, he had admired him since he was young.
Still, it was an innocent admiration.
And so, like an impulse, as if wanting to find comparison. When someone bravely confessed to him personally, Savier agreed. He wanted to know if having a boyfriend could compare to the feeling sprouting when looking at Sir Rylan.
Savier was disappointed as a result. It was not even close.
His only consolation to himself, he did not like the guy in the first place.
Till this day, he has never compared again and did not have the time to do so. Eventually, Savier also chose to hide and forgot about it. His busy college days also helped.
But, just like that, one word from someone. All the things he buried, suddenly scratched in the deepest of him, wanting to be known once again.
They returned to what it used to be after that postponed training session. Savier was too focused on pushing that terrifying secret to the deepest part of him again to still interact more with Sir Rylan.
Ah, that was an excuse.
Not like Sir Rylan wanted to talk with him.
That day was a complete contrast to the previous days; the sky was dark, and the wind swept, welcoming an impending storm. Before he left the villa, it had already started raining heavily. It never ceased until now that he was coming home.
The gloomy air intensified what he was feeling. Savier only leaned at the car window and looked outside. His vision was blurred because of the rain, and he could not help but sigh.
This rain truly makes you sentimental sometimes.
If Arle were here, Savier knew he would already be teasing him for being dramatic.
Damn, Arle, making me this way. He could not help cursing his twin.
As their car sped up, Savier suddenly caught something, and his demeanor changed.
"Ah," Savier exclaimed, making Rylan, in the driver's seat, slow down and pay attention.
"Your Highness?"
Sir Rylan's voice made Savier snap his head to the front and feel embarrassed, but he only gave a sheepish smile.
"Sorry, I just..." Savier looked at Sir Rylan and scratched the back of his neck. "Can we stop by to eat something?"
He did not know what came to him, but the moment he saw the sign of the shop, Savier craved to eat it. It was He could not always or had the time to eat outside.
On this rainy day, Savier insisted that the others not come with them, and so only he and Sir Rylan were together. At first, it was like just a spur-of-the-moment thing, but now he was already looking forward to it!
Wow, eating alone together? Suddenly, the gloomy air around him dissipated like smoke as if nothing had been there for days.
Aside from Sir Rylan taking an umbrella to shield himself from the rain, their relationship could not be discerned by one glance. And it helped that it was raining, and no one had the time to look at the person they encountered.
Entering the small establishment, the smell of spices and the soup lingered in the air, making Savier lick his lips. If Arle got their omega father's outgoing personality, he then inherited his inclination to become a foodie.
He did not have a lot of hobbies, but eating was definitely one of them. He enjoyed a variety of food and found it therapeutic to watch someone cooking or cooking by himself.
Savier swept his gaze around and looked at Sir Rylan, who was following him.
"Have you been to hotspot restaurants, Sir Rylan?" He whispered, and he did not even realize how his face was too close to the other's ear that his hot breath brushed in Rylan's ear, making it twitch.
Savier watched as Sir Rylan shook his head. He grinned and moved his brow up and down enthusiastically.
"I'll treat you, Sir Rylan."
His voice hoarse and deep that again, Rylan could only nod again. But his body was frozen stiff, as if awkward.
Savier, oblivious to this, finally asked the counter for a room, and yes, he was holding the other's wrist as he guided him inside. Needless to say, he would be screaming in his room after remembering this.
