Chapter 5 - Narlie's Prowess

Narlie, despite being trapped all throughout her life she already knew of these vampires' existence. They were the current anomaly in this present time.

Narlie had knowledge of demons, witches, vampires and werewolves and she did that at eight. So seeing these strange creatures was no surprise at all.

Her head cocked to the side, seeing the regal and rogue contortions on their faces– expressionless, almost like they meant business for the day.

The man she married is a man of pride, so she watched as he slowly made his way towards the unsettling crew.

"Tax fee? This is quite absurd because considering the amount of gold coins I paid last week, it should be more than enough to settle all taxes for more than six months."

One of the vampires, burly in stature smiled, a wolfish grin on his face. He revealed a set of bloodied fangs, his eyes burning with feral excitement.

"We don't mean money tax… we need blood— her blood."

He pointed at Narlie, causing the young woman's back to stiffen instantly. Her calm grey eyes flaring an insidious blue aura. Something seemed to have shifted in her countenance.

Her husband just watched with much excitement and he said, "I won't stop you. She's all yours."

A heavy sense of betrayal dropped thick within her heart. Earlier, he had promised to protect her with everything he had, and now, here he is delivering her into the vampire's hands.

'Was I wrong to trust him?'

The burly man smiled in glee. The surrounding vampires who had been given consent immediately lunged forward at Narlie with excitement and hunger, but Narlie is not an ordinary wolf.

Her eyes flared and the surrounding air distorted and shook. The first man who got a few centimetres close was blasted backwards by a terrifying kick which resulted in a broken spine.

Eyes wide, shin shaking… those bloodshot eyes did not stop craving the scent of her blood.

"You…"

Narlie had awakened her wolf abilities at eleven years which made her one of the youngest to wield unimaginable power— which is probably why her husband had freely delivered them into her claws.

"Jamie, she's too powerful for you. Let me take over!"

Another vampire moved with terrifying speed, closing the distance in a split second. Narlie had forgotten something important, and that is, vampires possess frightening speed. This one took her by surprise, yet she managed to counter the attack as someone with experience on the battlefield.

Kevin, the vampire who had swapped positions with Jamie, raised his fist in a punch that shook the sky, a terrifying aura surging through the air, rippling like a tornado. Narlie took two steps back, her eyes turning cold. She immediately soared into the air, packing enough power in her left hand and slamming it down like a chilling sledgehammer.

The void compressed alongside, a powerful force descending. The moment it touched the ground, everything was decimated, the vampires around were sent flying as Narlie took in a sharp breath.

The coachman for the carriage stepped forward. "His majesty, I don't think your parents would survive from the onslaught. They are being held back by hordes of rogue vampires."

Maybe these sets divided themselves into two groups. Their intentions are very clear— Narlie and Constance possessed pure blood, so these were easy targets.

Narlie had merely defeated the weaker vampires, but there are stronger vampires that she cannot fight against no matter how powerful she is.

Her husband finally stepped forward, pulling her behind him so proactively and he muttered.

"What a waste. You couldn't even make her bleed. Now, it's my turn."

The moment he made that statement, the starry sky changed into a deep red hue, painting an overcast that weighed down upon the world.
