Chapter 4 - Daydeian

Shinso hated lunch, it reminded him to much of middle school, people avoided him not out of fear but because he wanted it like that. He glanced over at the hero course tables and they were full as always as the people with the most physical and flashy quirks. Then his eyes landed on the table with the gravity girl, engine legs, frog girl and ice prince. They all seemed to slouch and eat their food slowly. He noticed the that the pretty noticeable green hair missing. Then he turned to his corner table and saw him, sitting with his legs crossed on the table leaning back a pencil in his hand crossed under his other arm spinning in a mesmerizing pattern. The shadows in the windowless corner casted shadows over the boys hair and his eyes seemed to glow a dull green.

"You look like a video game boss from the US."

Shinso replied dully to the boy with who he had a few conversations. The other boy dident responded he seemed to be starring at one table in particular with an angry look.

"There underestimating me.."

came the muttered voice of Midoriya as he seemed to lip read the bomber guy from his class.

"You can lip read?"

Shinso asked but he new it was a dumb question, this guy new how to pick locks hijack cars and even black mail people. What didn't he know?

"What if I told you I could get you into the hero course immediately after a test if we pass with above a ninety?"

Midoriya ignored the question and went to the root.

"What?"

Shinso nearly choked on his rice as he was given the rundown of the situation.

"Wait what does this have to do with me transferring?"

Shinso asked still flabbergasted at the turn of events.

"I made a bet with Nezu that if we passed a test rigged against us with a ninety percent you get in, If we don't I have to fight with all might and eraser head at the same time for my final exam."

Midoriya mentioned calmly and Shinso then choked on his rice.

"Your both bat shit insane,"

Shinso had agreed and was now in the personal work shop Mei got who was currently under neath a backup human shaped tarp and seemed to be wiring stuff. Izuku was sitting at a computer seeming to be coding.

"Yes yes we are, and this insane shit is going to make your quirk one of the most broken out there."

Izuku replied calmly and Shinso felt a shiver of fear as Izuku started at him hard.

"I am not going to lie to you, it will feel like straight hell and feel worse then anything you have ever done before. But if you get through it you'll be on track to be the most infamous underground hero out there."

The look in Izuku's eye told Shinso of struggle and grim determination, he knew he could trust Midoriya he had saved his ass from bullies a while back. And even though Shinso owed him a thousand times over he was still being done favors. Well that wasn't going to last Shinso should do whatever it took be the hero he wanted to be.

And for the next hour in a locked training room found Shinso in the plank position with his shirt off and blood running out of his nose mixing with the sweat. A little ways away were five people who volunteered to help Shinso evolve his quirk and they were all playing a game of chess while under Shinso's quirk.

"You'll never be a hero! You're a villain with no chance!"

Izuku shouted as he placed another ten puns weight on Shinso. Izuku was putting Shinso through hell to get his quirk evolved, that included several times passing out and on top of that physical and mental abuse.

"You're a villain playing hero!"

Izuku shouted right next to his ear. And despite the constant pressure he with stood Shinso started to falter his arms wobbled slightly.

"You're a traitor and better suited to the villain role!"

Came another shout and Shinso growled.

"You will fail… everybody who believed in you knows deep down that you're a villain… it's only a matter of time…"

the sudden quiet voice was not Izuku's but it sounded in Shinso's head. Mabel there right, what am I doing? I can't be a hero.. those thoughts went through his head until another sudden weight was on his shoulders.

The strain on his quirk felt like a flawed rope ready to snap at any moment. But he felt something…

"Will you listen to them?"

Izuku was suddenly next to him talking calmly

"what?"

Shinso grunted out.

"Will you listen to the bullies and insignificant people pretending to be good? The people who put us down not knowing who or what we could become?"

The words resonated in his head and his arms trembled more. Blood poured from his nose.

"We are who we want to be, but we will always want the approval of others… And I believe in you Shinso, I believe you can truly be the underground hero Dydeian."

Suddenly Shinso could feel it, it was different the strings his quirk made in his head suddenly felt like chains. Full control of what they did, then he looked up to Izuku who looked at him in hope and pride.

"Hey… what's you favorite color?" Shinso wheezed out and Izuku shrugged. An explosion of connections came from the simple action and Shinso passed out.
