Chapter 1 - Prologue

Kobayashi Haruto. 20 years old. Want to know where my name came from? My parents found me in a forest. Yes. I was not their real son, but they made me feel like one.

Since my parents found me in the forest, my mother decided to name me Haruto. Haru because I looked like I am lost. Quite funny if you think about it.

Although now, that name did show its meaning. My loving parents died from an accident. I am left alone with their inheritance. I still study, and I have a part time job struggling to make ends meet.

The only highlight of my day is when I get to play games from the devices I painstakingly saved up for.

Right now, I got hooked on an otome game i mistakingly bought. I was supposed to buy a gal game (counterpart of otome games but for male audience). What can I do? The cover was too badass I thought it was for guys.

There's a dragon, magic circles, a school, and students fighting the dragon. If anything, it almost looks like the dragon is the protagonist. I just took it without looking at the synopsis. Now looking back, it seems like I was a bit impulsive.

Anyways, I already bought it with my hard earned money so I will take all the content it offers.

The world building is nice, although the story is confined only to few places such as the school, a magic forest, hunting grounds, etc. Most of them are places to raise levels.

The story revolves around the female lead, Sasaki Yuna. Her height is quite average. Short brown hair that softly brushes her cheeks, black eyes that is full of positivity, and born to an ordinary family with no famous lineage. She is quite an averge protagonist.

However, everything would change after she went in the academy of Asterion.

Asterion Academy Of Magic. A very famous school where all nobles and royalties sends their precious sons and daughters. A place where commoners and nobles stand on equal grounds.

Originally, Yuna doesn't have the qualification to join the Academy. Although the admission requirement does not precede its popularity, only being above average, Yuna's magical capabilities is only average. Until she awaken her healing attribute.

In this world, everything has mana reciding in it. It is due to something inside the body that attracts them and keeps them there. As to what it is, people speculate it is the soul. As for how much and how fast you gather mana, that depends on talents.

As for attributes, mana as it is, is merely a collection of different kinds of mana. Much like how a normal light contains different colors. The different types of manas are called attributes.

Mana's vessel has different qualities. These qualities determine which type of mana you can control and your upper limit. The more your qualities lean to one attribute, the more exceptional you can be at using that particular attribute but the more harder it is to control other attributes. Average quality can control more attributes but the lower the upper limit they can achieve.

One doesn't immediately know which attribute they excel at. Their bodies needs to interact first with mana. The longer they use mana, the more their natural qualities gets stimulated. In due time, it will get harder to use other mana and easier to use certain attributes. Only then will you know which attribute you should focus on.

Yuna's attribute, healing attribute, is a very rare attribute. Unlike holy attribute, it focuses more in regeneration and healing.

Due to this, she received a recommendation letter from one of the professors.

What she doesn't know, is that her healing attribute will be the preliminary requirement to battle the evil dragon that is sealed under the academy.

At first, I am a little averse playing as a girl. But as time goes on, the more I get attached to the protagonist. I realized that we share a lot in common. Mainly, she lost her parents.

Fun slowly turned to a sense of responsibility. I looked for all the bad routes and looked for the best route she can have. Nitpicked all the love interest, and avoided all the bad ending even if I will lose some content. Although I tried to study all the triggers and flags for all routes.

Soon, I completed it, although not 100% due to the bad routes not being touched at all. It was sad, but satisfying.

I knelt down. Regardless of if I was being too emotional or my mental state, a tear slid down my cheek. I kind of envy Yuna. I managed to create a happy ending for her. As for me, stuck alone. Lost.

I truly am, Haruto.

I don't know if it's due to sleep deprivation, or some other causes, but my vision blurred and turned black. I felt my head hit the ground.
