Chapter 14 - The Unstoppable Force

"Good work Kuriko. Now, it's time to set the plan into motion."

.

Kuro stood alone in front of a towering building, his golden eyes gazing intently at the windows that were lined up across the building for quick access. It was securely guarded by a giant metallic gate and a key panel, along with cameras in hidden areas.

Despite this, Kuro was uncaring if he was seen by these cameras. He stood confidently in front of the gate. His raven black hair grew longer over the few years and was wildly unkept which gave him more of a feral divine appearance.

He adorned a classic black hoodie with loose blue jeans and a belt loosely tied around it, keeping his pants from just from barely falling. With it were black combat boots, tied securely to keep his feet from slipping out of them.

.

"I'm back in this shit hole once again."

Shura exclaimed in a tone of anger, her voice echoing within the depths of the void. Her wrists were tightly wrapped in chains that were unseen, restraining her and keeping her within the empty darkness.

"You've been causing me problems Shura. I thought we had a deal."

Suddenly a voice pitched within the void, lacking a definite tone due to its disorientated nature.

"You and that deal can go straight to the hell you've created. If I can get your avatar to see what you're doing, then I can bring this whole story to an end. Piece of shi-"

Shura rambled on in a constant stream of insults, revealing her disdain for the entity that spoke to her in what she assumed was a threatening manner. Though before she could complete her sentence, she found herself watching the very story itself.

This place wasn't a place as it was not a definite coordinate within spacetime, it was the very panel of the story of this book. Shura saw the very script in the process of being written, a complicated story revolved around the author.

.

Miyah silently watched Kuro from a distance, her impassive gaze calculating the outcome of the mission. With a subtle nod to herself, she opted to stand by until she was needed.

On the other hand, Kuro charged forward with no fear behind his golden eyes. His body surging with potent soul energy, it was as if a raging tide had broken free from a dam.

This sudden release of energy generated a multitude of electrical discharges due to the vibrating friction of molecules between his body and the very wind itself. Then a concussive shockwave rippled forth, Kuro already speeding through the metallic gates as it was ripped from the ground from the shockwave.

The only thing the cameras could catch was a streak of golden light, but this was seconds after Kuro had broken through. This meant that by the time Kuro came rushing through the entrance, an alarm finally sounded.

Suddenly a blur of white & blue crashed directly into Kuro before he could reach the entrance, forcing an explosion to uplift debris and dust at the entrance of the building.

It was now seen that it was none other than Iya, the student vice president who crashed into Kuro.

A groan of pain escaped Kuro lips as Iya stood over him with an arrogant smile. Iya arms were crossed over his built chest with a subtle flex of his biceps, standing confidently as if he was the strongest being to walk the planet.

"Sorry Kuro. But I can't let you get-"

Iya began to explain the situation, but his explanation was cut short when Kuro swept Iya's feet, forcing the older teen to fall over in shock. Kuro took this opportunity to swiftly regather himself and stand up, once again allowing his soul energy to flow through his body and into the external world.

Iya swiftly recovered by flipping himself upright, a subtle scowl on his face at the sudden attack. This had given Iya an understanding that Kuro did not know of Iya's true objective.

"Not now Iya. I'm in a hurry to get something"

Kuro exclaimed in a hurried tone, rushing past Iya who outstretched his arm to latch onto Kuro's shoulder, preventing him from going any further and stopping him dead in his tracks.

"Kuro. I know you're smarter than that."

Iya exclaimed with a subtle sigh, hinting at the true objective of appearing before Kuro. Then like a switch being turned on, it dawned on Kuro that Iya was here to intercept him.

"To think the second strongest in the world would bow down to mortals. The dirt they have on you must be very nice"

Kuro exclaimed with a teasing tone mixed with a noticeable taunt. His golden eyes peered into Iya's sky-blue eyes, unwavering and determined to complete a goal no matter the obstacle.

.

"Do you think he can complete this type of job? I mean his target has the potential to alter our very state of existence as if it was a mere book!"

An elderly lady proclaimed in a tone of exaggerated frustration at the situation they found themselves in.

"Though the target is on par with a primordial in terms of raw potential, he still lacks the necessary skills to cultivate and so he will die here by the strongest human in existence."

An older man proclaimed with a tone of satisfaction and a hint of proudness. The others agreed with a round of applause which concluded a very secretive meeting.

.

Kuro found himself having a hard time defending himself against Iya, who dominated in physical strength. Iya's nature was the very physical laws that make up the universe, allowing him to alter his biological state with relative ease. Thus, the strength that could topple buildings with ease had been fueled with biomass.

Kuro on the other hand was more adept in the essence of magical energy. His understanding of this energy was on par with Miyah's scientific knowledge. Kuro's understanding of magic was far more in-depth than any could imagine and still growing.

"Soul Art #6: Vector Field"

Reality stopped and pulsated like a beating heart pumped with adrenaline, shaking and vibrating at an intense speed until everything resumed to normal. Though subtle shimmers that matched the vibrations of heatwaves began to manifest around them at a rapid pace.

"Even tanks can be dented with enough force"

Kuro exclaimed with a sadistic smile that screamed another worldly evil. These subtle shimmers were vectors imbued with soul energy, allowing for him to apply the illogical nature of magic to a scientific concept.

This resulted in a 50-meter radius field to be under Kuro's control, which luckily for Kuro had his opponent trapped within.

"Hm. So, you've learned how to control vectors. Unfortunately, the very rules that govern the physical world...is under my command"

Iya exclaimed with a chuckle, amused by Kuro's ignorance regarding his power. Then with a mere wave of the hand from Iya, the vector field that surrounded them became obsolete.

"Ooh! I see that my sister taught you a few things about physical science. Don't bore me."

Iya exclaimed in excitement, lashing out with a right hook to counter Kuro's incoming left hook. Both attacks landed on each other, though Iya seemed more unfazed than Kuro. This was evident by the subtle stumble of Kuro's feet upon being hit.

'Holy shit, it's like being hit by a plane!'

Kuro exclaimed in his mind while tilting his head just in time to narrowly avoid a following left hook that would've taken his head off his shoulders. The sheer force behind the missed attack had generated enough force to uplift the very ground behind Kuro.

Kuro knew if he was hit more than once then it was done for, which opted him to begin focusing on the battle more instead of getting past Iya.

'He's a close combat monster. I need to get some distance.'

Kuro exclaimed to himself within his mind, scanning his surroundings in an attempt to create a diversion.

"Flaming Sword Style #1: Divine Piercing"

Then like a beat of a drum, the sound of crackling flames filled the silence in a fury. A trail of scorching heat left behind from the blazing sword that was held firmly in Kuro hand, the distance between them already closed.

Kuro reeled his arm back and stabbed forward with no wasted movements. The tip of the flaming sword sliced through the very water molecules within the immediate space, leaving no room for water magic or tools that utilized water.

"Neat trick"

Iya proclaimed with a wide smile as the tip of the blade slammed into his chest, followed with a raging inferno that engulfed his entire body and the area around him.
