Chapter 13 - The Author

3 years later...

.

Exhausted breathing and heavy gasps were heard throughout an open and wide field. In this field was none other than Kuro and Miyah respectively. Kuro hands gripped his sword tightly, his ragged breathing making his lack of stamina noticeable to Miyah.

Miyah on the other held her sword in one hand calmly, her breathing stable and calm. She looked on with an indifferent expression, her clothes untainted by the labor of their battle. Kuro clothes on the other hand were tattered with multiple slash holes but no open wound.

"You're finally able to keep up with 5%. Now we'll move on to 15%"

Miyah exclaimed with a cool tone of indifference whilst she subtly twitched her pointer finger. This subtle movement had an instant effect on reality, generating high speed wind pressure. Kuro looked on with an exhaustion evident in his eyes, a hint of despair rising in his chest as the sky took on the shape of a swirling typhoon.

"H-heh. Just a flick and there's a typhoon. Just how powerful is your master?"

Kuro asked with a silent gulp of nervousness. This earned a slight raise of an eyebrow from Miyah who silently chucked at Kuro's astonishment.

"He's the reason you continue to breathe right now. Though he's not directly hands on at times, he has influenced the world greatly."

Miyah explained with what sounded like admiration much to the shock of Kuro, hearing the first emotion that finally escaped Miyah lips.

The past three years have been a blessing and a living hell for Kuro. The reason for this is because of Miyah taking him in as an apprentice. Every single day from sunup till sundown, his body was drilled with physical exercises that left him sore for weeks and magic energy control which left him mentally exhausted for weeks as well.

Though the best parts of the training were the bonding moments between the two, eventually growing close enough for Miyah to open up if only a teeny tiny bit. This development over the years had led to Kuro falling in love with the stoic and strict personality of Miyah.

"I see."

Kuro uttered out in a calm tone of voice, his body eventually healings itself thanks to his newly developed accelerated healing factor which allowed him to overcome most injuries like limb removals. His arms which held his sword in a two-handed grip, stopped shaking in exhaustion and held steady as his breathing calmed and his oxygen intake stabilized.

"Flaming Sword Art #1: Heaven's Descent"

Kuro sword was set ablaze in a passion of flames that burst forth like a raging inferno, imbued with magical energy that caused it to flicker in and out of the physical plane of existence. First was the horizontal slash that shot the flaming trail forward at high-speed in a projectile state.

Next was the diagonal downward slash which sent another trail of flames forward right behind the horizontal slash in an intersection. This left a spectacular display of flames that scorched everything within its path.

Miyah stood with her arms folded over her chest, subtly pushing her melons up. The flames were dispersed into thin air upon reaching the five meters away from Miyah. Then Miyah eyes flickered to the left, noticing Kuro had suddenly appeared with an incoming hook.

Much to Kuro dismay, his fist connected with an invisible barrier though this did not deter him. He continued with another hook, then another, his speed rapidly increasing until his arms were nothing but blurs hitting against the wind itself.

Then it cracked. Though Kuro had no time to admire his hard work due to being forced on the defensive by leaping back just in time to avoid a condensed blast of wind.

"Congratulations. You've finally learned to properly apply inertia. Now, let's continue."

Miyah exclaimed in a more lighthearted tone, finally warming up to Kuro after three long years of observing him and training him.

.

Oka stood amongst an army of female warriors, her gaze fierce and unmatched. Her uniform fitted perfectly, and her honorific badges were displayed for all to see. Her sword hung tightly around the waist, humming with unbelievable power.

"Allow me to handle this one princess. This type of creature is unworthy of your power"

An older male proclaimed with a tone of overconfidence. His hair was raven black and cut very short, revealing more of his radiant blue eyes which were similar in color to Miyah's.

This man was Iya. The student vice president and twin brother to Miyah. He exuded a presence of unfiltered force; his mere movements influenced the physical forces around them as if it all revolved around him.

"Gravity Art #2: Eye of the Pyramid "

The beast looked around in confusion, wondering who was speaking until it was hit directly in the stomach with a piercing force. This not only imploded its inside, but it also exited out the back of the beast which forced it to stumble back with a gaping hole in its chest.

Iya watched in satisfaction as gravity bent to his will, defying its natural order to annihilate the beast. Unfortunately, this was not enough to get rid of the giant demonic creature.

With greater speed than anticipated, the demonic beast recovered and blitzed forward with agility that did not match its size.

Its giant fist cut through the air like a sharp blade, closing in on Iya who simple stood with an indifferent expression.

Iya slipped past the giant fist and leapt forward with a streak of light and what followed next was a starry explosion, exuding a force intense enough to alter the very clouds within the sky, twisting them into a spiral to reveal them in the center of a hurricane.

"Iya. Knock it off"

Oka exclaimed in a sigh of irritation at the antics of the vice president, observing as he altered the state of the weather itself by manipulating the state of gravity.

"Forgive me, milady"

Iya exclaimed and with a snap of his finger, everything other than the damage dealt to the creature had restored itself. Iya stood directly in front of it, both hands on his hip as he watched the creature struggle to cling to its life.

.

"Okay Kuro. This is meeting depends on if we can secure the portion of your power"

Miyah explained with an indifferent expression, her eyelids half lidded in a relaxed manner and one hand on her hip. Her unreal azure-colored eyes locked with Kuro's golden one's.

After a minute of walking in silence, a thunderous boom echoed through the small technological town. A fierce explosion shot from the building they were supposed to be meeting important figures at.

This had urged them to hasten their pace, rushing towards the burning building with widened eyes.

On the other hand, the two figures the duo had been travelling to meet were face to face with a cloaked figure. Then everything seemed to happen in a blur of events, not giving the two important figures time to understand the situation.

The room suddenly exploded into a fierce flame, engulfing the room and everyone within. At least that is what the outside perspective saw. The cloaked individual had managed to scoop up both important figures and exit through the window all within that time frame.

"Objective complete. We've got the two girls"
