Before Kakashi's blade could strike Uchiha Yoki, a figure materialized like a phantom behind the young Uchiha, intercepting the attack with a kunai.
Kakashi's eyes narrowed slightly at the sight. Having missed his strike, he immediately leaped back to evade. He had successfully provoked Uchiha Yoki into losing his composure again, but Uchiha Ren's intervention had foiled his plan. All his efforts had been for naught.
"Yoki! Calm down!" Uchiha Ren barked, his voice tinged with anger after blocking Kakashi's attack. He was furious that Yoki had lost his cool again during the battle. If Ren hadn't intervened, Kakashi might have killed him.
Yoki, now shaken by his near-death experience, didn't dare argue. He quickly replied, "I understand!"
Forcing himself to suppress his rage, Yoki forcibly regained his composure.
Seeing the anger in Uchiha Ren and Uchiha Yoki's eyes subside, Kakashi refrained from further provoking them. He knew that any further taunts would be futile; the Uchiha brothers weren't fools and wouldn't fall for the same trick repeatedly.
This left Kakashi in a bind. His combat prowess clearly paled in comparison to theirs, and escape was impossible.
*What to do?*
*How can I defeat them? They're two against one, both wielding the Sharingan to anticipate my every move. The Chidori won't work, and with the Hatake Three-Blade Technique, I can only execute a single strike!*
Kakashi's mind raced as he desperately sought a way to overcome the Uchiha brothers. Unlike before, he couldn't avoid this battle; it was unavoidable.
In this critical moment, Kakashi couldn't help but recall his summoning beasts from the original timeline—Pakkun and the others. If he had already formed a contract with them, he wouldn't be so vulnerable fighting alone.
*After this, I need to find my own summoning beast!*
With that thought, Kakashi banished these useless musings and focused his gaze on the Uchiha brothers. His hands moved swiftly through a series of hand seals.
"Earth Release: Fissure Earth Palm!"
The Earth Release technique Uchiha Yoki had used earlier in the battle was now replicated and unleashed by Kakashi.
Kakashi pressed his hands against the ground, and fissures immediately erupted, racing toward Uchiha Ren and Uchiha Yoki!
*Whoosh!*
After unleashing the Earth Release: Fissure Earth Palm, Kakashi didn't even glance to see if his attack had struck. He abruptly turned and vanished in a burst of speed!
Retreating—knowing he was no match for the pair, continuing the fight would be foolish. This wasn't Kakashi's style!
However, Kakashi wasn't truly trying to escape. He knew he couldn't outrun Uchiha Ren and Uchiha Yoki's pursuit. Instead, he was using the retreat to buy time to devise a counterstrategy!
"Trying to run? Not so easy!"
Uchiha Ren dodged Kakashi's attack and watched him flee, momentarily stunned before sneering coldly.
"After him!"
*Whoosh! Whoosh!*
Uchiha Ren and Uchiha Yoki immediately gave chase, their figures blurring as they closed the distance.
Kakashi darted ahead, weaving through the terrain, while the pair relentlessly pursued him from behind.
Uchiha Ren and Uchiha Yoki weren't about to let Kakashi escape so easily. They unleashed a barrage of bladed weapons, sending them hurtling after him.
However, the distance between Kakashi and his pursuers allowed him to evade their attacks with ease.
Still, the constant barrage slowed him down, making his movements noticeably sluggish.
*Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!*
"Lightning Release: Chidori!"
Kakashi shielded Uchiha Ren and his companion from view with his back, secretly channeling the Chidori.
"Die!"
After dodging another kunai strike from Uchiha Yoki, Kakashi whirled around, his hand crackling with the Chidori, and lunged at Yoki.
He targeted Yoki because the younger Uchiha was the weaker of the two, making a successful sneak attack more likely.
*Sizzle!*
"Hah! Don't think you can hide your moves from our Sharingan!"
Facing Kakashi's sudden counterattack, Uchiha Yoki sneered and effortlessly dodged the strike, clearly having anticipated Kakashi's move.
*Whoosh!*
Missing his target, Kakashi didn't dare linger. He immediately burst away again.
*As expected, it's useless. With their Sharingan and calm composure, I have no chance for a surprise attack.*
Fleeing once more, Kakashi muttered to himself. The earlier attack had merely been a test.
The results clearly displeased him.
*If this keeps up, my chakra will be completely drained!*
Fighting meant having his every move read, while retreating offered no escape. His chakra was dwindling rapidly, and worst of all, Kakashi couldn't devise any effective strategy against his opponents.
*What can I do?*
*Am I going to die here today? I haven't even found Tsunade yet! Damn it!*
Kakashi's anxiety grew. This was the first time he had faced such a desperate situation.
*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*
Kakashi continued to dart away, constantly evading the attacks of Uchiha Ren and Uchiha Yoki behind him.
*Pfft!*
Distracted by his panic, Kakashi failed to dodge in time. A shuriken grazed his arm, drawing a spray of blood.
Seeing Kakashi wounded—even a minor injury—Uchiha Ren and Uchiha Yoki grinned triumphantly, their eyes gleaming with bloodlust. Kakashi had nowhere left to run.
*Stay calm! I have to stay calm!*
The pain from the wound jolted Kakashi back to his senses. He knew that losing his composure would only hasten his demise.
*Wait!*
As his mind cleared, Kakashi suddenly had a flash of insight. A plan formed in his mind.
"Hahaha! You two are finished now!"
