Following the sound of starr's voice everyone stilled not daring to move,
Mrs grace who just heard the news ran with some of the girls to the scenes and met the horrifying sights, several motionless bodies were sprawled on the floor.
Overcome with shock, Mrs grace screamed and shouted immediately broke down into tears .
When one of the school staff then came walking in.
Mr Festus looked around at the panicked faces and found their expression amusing, chuckling he asked "what is going on"
One of the girls, trembling and unable to speak pointed to the bodies on the ground and said shakingly be..cky an..and Vivian are dead.
To everyone's astonishment, Mr Festus just bursted into laughter, leaving everyone in disbelief. Starr just watched with her eyes narrowed trying to make sense of his reactions.
Seeing the tension on everyone's faces , Mr Festus finally said "I see that my little game has gone too far"
"Too far ?"Liam Max's friend asked in confusion.
" What do you mean Mr Festus" another student questioned.
Without a word, Mr Festus snapped his fingers twice instantly the light came on.
He then began to explain " I just wanted to give everyone a welcome prank but I didn't expect it to result to this"
" welcome pranks?? Mrs grace repeated clearly stunned.
"pulling a stunt like this? That's unacceptable ,"she scolded.
"Okay, she breathed, then what do you have to say about the bodies"
"Bodies" he responded genuinely confused.
" Yes bodies! , Vivian and Becky are dead" she snapped.
"who said they are dead" he asked raising an eyebrow, still wearing a faint amused smile.
"This isn't funny Mr Festus", max finally spoke, his voice calm but firm and everyone turned to look at him.
He continued " They're about five people's bodies are on the floor with blood pouring out of their eyes and mouths, tell us what is going on.
Lets know what to do".
Mr Festus turned towards max and said with a sarcastic chuckle "Oh max, is that you"
Then shifting his gaze towards the abandoned house nearby, he called out to someone inside "come out".
In the next moment, to everyone utmost shock, Becky, Chloe, Emily, Bella and Sophie. Who just moment ago was presumed dead- emerged completely unharmed. Not a single injury in sight, looking perfectly normal which left everyone in awe.
Mr Festus began to explain, when the lights went out, the girls had quickly gotten up to change. It was all part of an elaborate prank.
Laughters and deep sighs of relief echoed.
Few of them told Mr Festus not to pull that kind of stunt again.
But max could feel that there was something more than this, that eerie voiced can't be faked, no one could fake something that chilling , the strange atmosphere, the sudden cold breeze, it all felt too real, too timed, something sinister was lurking around waiting for a perfect moment to attack.
Even starr felt the same way, still she chose to play along for now, but she made a quiet, firm mental note: STAY ALERT.
Meanwhile max quietly left the gathering once everything has settled down. And the student were asked to retire for the night, but as he was moving he had a sudden rustle in the nearby bushes and saw something moving but before he could get a clear view, it disappeared into the darkness , making him wonder if it was just an hallucinations or something else was really with them in this site.
Shaking the thought from his mind, max slipped inside his tent, trying to convince himself that it was nothing.
While Everyone was sleeping peacefully not knowing something else, more sinister was with them there, moving in the shadows of the dimly lit light with elongated nails and fangs gleaming faintly under the moonlight ,
It has been long since it had any "fun", perhaps a year ago,
And seeing how much these humans loved pranks, it decided it was time to give them one of its own.
A prank they would never forget..... And probably their last.
