Kiara folded her arms.
"The more seriously we treat a rumor… the more convincing people believe it must be." She walked toward the window before continuing. "If we begin punishing servants, everyone will think they accidentally uncovered some great royal secret."
Scarlett quietly listened.
Kiara smiled faintly.
"A rumor is like dry leaves carried by the wind. If you chase after every single one… you'll spend your entire life running." She looked back at Scarlett. "Ignore it. Eventually, people will become bored. They'll find another story to entertain themselves with."
Scarlett remained thoughtful.
"You really don't mind?"
Kiara laughed softly.
"I've already become the woman who supposedly destroyed Heaven's Gate, enslaved dragons, trapped an Imperial Princess, and negotiated with an Emperor." She shrugged. "I suppose adding one more ridiculous rumor won't change very much."
Scarlett stared at her for several seconds.
Then, unable to stop herself, she laughed.
