Kiara's expression became guarded.
Scarlett continued before she could dismiss the question. "Remember what Lord Zeraph said during the family gathering? He mentioned that when someone with the Phoenix bloodline dies for the first time, something changes within them. The more times they die, the more unstable they become."
She tightened her hand around Kiara's, her earlier embarrassment forgotten.
"I don't know whether that explains what you're experiencing, but it might be connected. You said your emotions have been difficult to control ever since your resurrection, and now you're telling me that this has happened more than once."
Scarlett searched Kiara's face, her voice growing quieter.
