Chapter 36 - Into the Caves or a Shrine

The cave was ominous, filled with unsullied energy. It was the abode of a goddess- a surreal power that can clone bodies. She was the key to mend complications in Agasthus.

Thus, Leon leaped in…

The narrow alleys of the cave were inhabiting contrasting behaviour. They were hard to understand. The nocturnal darkness made it even more complex to predict the right way. The domain was specific for the massacre of innocents.

Walking across the long endless loop, Leon finally unveiled the open space. It was more of a gathering hall, where prayers must have been prayed. The place everyone came to greet the Embodiment Goddess "Erachna".

Leon stood restless…

He was searching for anamolies…

And he sensed it…

Close to his right ear he heard vibrations, sibilancing to him.

"What is your purpose for visiting?" The voice was calm but resonating

"I want thy blessings"

Leon turned around to dust

"My Goddess"

He tried to examine the presence

"Can I get to know the exact reason" her voice cunning

"Can I ask to reveal your ultimate presence first"

"Mark the point, or leave my shrine" the voice was furious

"Sorry, if I intruded" Leon was kindly convocating "I simply need you to clone a body"

He glided the reason

"Oh, poor boy. Came to the hideous forest for the wish I can't grant"

"I am quite sure about your capabilities, Goddess Erachna" Leon smirked

A swiftful energy summoned behind Leon. She was the goddess, bent on to strike. A hard blow from the majestic staff she held- a blow that could crush many. But Leon dodged it, feeling it grazing his right ear.

"What's with the sudden charge" he pushed Erachna to her throne.

"So Tistra finally sensed me?"

"Wait" he gave a crooked look "Are you considering me allie of Tistra?

He sighed

"I barely know him"

"Why should I believe you?" Erachna took hold of her staff

"If I was someone Tistra send, why would I wait for you to talk" he threw a blind comment

Erachna was little convinced, but still some part remained in abhorrent suspicion. She strode towards Leon, attempting to hold him through the hands of an angel.

They glowed through the chiseled stones- attempting to hold Leon. But the attempt failed as a drifting stomp vanished them into thin flecks.

With a failed attempt came the ultimate move: multiple embodied Erachna flooded the battlefield.

"So, why are you hiding in the caves" Leon shouted as he kept dodging

"Because your master tormented me forever" she glided through multiple her "he wanted to diminish my power"

"But what's even left of you?" Leon embarked a spark on the ground, setting alight everything on fire.

"Not much before"

Her voice changing as he kept swinging

"I was prosperous and happy. My shrine was filled with fellow followers"

She was flung away by Leon, as he held her hand

"You wanted prosperity" he shouted to let the voice reach

"I wanted my people" she replied instantly- deflecting the ideal

"A goddess needs believers to survive. Without any belief we can't exist"

She was quite shocked about the verities she revealed.

"So what put a prosperous goddess direly in need" Leon eliminated every clone

"Tistra destroyed herb, creature, being that could restore the curse on Path of Apostle"

She summoned another hundred synths, with bare space to move

"But for me he had other plans. Killing a goddess would raise serious concern in upper assembly"

Erachna finally thumped on Leon, as the clones kept coming

"So, he killed my followers instead"

"He burned any book with my name in it"

She could still remember: the happy faces of the infants, gifts that the people brought, something salubrious. The price was worth paying. She would bless them evenly, trying her best to understand each one. Her robes never repeated, as offerings kept coming with beautiful ornaments each day. Those days had notions she was yearning about.

But then… the follower stopped coming.

Darkness spread across the Happy forest…

All that was left was melancholy…

Erachna kept growing weak, her breath felt heavy. She was crawling over to her throne, trying to resonate her energy. Her vision was misshapen. Beats were profoundly resilient. The death gates were trumping as she could feel the gods summoning her.

"I lost it all," she cried.

Leon removed his sickles, expending tremendous energy around.

"Path of Eternal Deity" she whispered, her hands trembling…

The mere energy defabrocated the clones.

Erachna had nearly given up

"You were just messing around"

"Don't get me wrong" Leon smiled "I wanted to hear your story"

He rushed through another hundred evokes. His hands relaxed, ready to strike the moment he reached the Goddess.

There she was- her real body, emitting complete presence. She stuck the sickle with her staff, it was naught but possible due to the energy he held back.

"Your strength keeps on increasing" she grunted

Leon held back his sickle, slashing multiple arcs on the staff. The formidable noise echoed across the edges. Her staff and her body were weakening even further.

She swung her fist, but Leon dodged it. Trying to counter hook, he missed the shot too.

A kick sworn straight, but held back by Erachna.

The dabble convulsed her…

"You are hiding something" Leon revealed the thought hidden

"I don't have a reason to tell you" she spoke, as another strike bashed her.

Her ounces weaker, she summoned her final quarrel. An enlightened thick band of light swirling as a snake. It coiled itself and walloped towards Leon. Several tiny specks disintegrated which distorted the rods in eyes. Leon at that moment, closed the lids. His perception heightened, he sensed for her presence.

There he felt it…

Close to the right vertex of his eye he felt her staff charging…

Erachna, who had potential to see through, never saw Leon charging. She in reluctance held the stick in defense. It swung by as Leon broke it with the sickles.

A tremendous dark shade of green emanated…

Leon dapped her with his shoulder- avoiding unnecessary feeble movement.

She fell, nothing to scramble. Her vision was hasty, searching for Leon.

But the very next moment, she felt the chilling energy from the deadly weapons- licking her neck.

"I had a question" Leon gazed emotionless "if your followers are dead"

He paused

"How are you still alive?"
