Chapter 21 - Bruises

Amelia gets back home. Her body aching as she continues her walk to the front door.

A white house in an open neighbourhood, with other white small house around. Many other houses around has kids either going out to play after school, as Amelia gets to her front door, with her white and blue uniform has some stains and her skin feeling sticky from the water that soaked into her school shirt.

She gets to her door, a wooden white door. That is pretty difficult to open if you don't lift and push as well.

Her mother has told her land lord about it for a while, but there hasn't been any attempts to try and fix it.

Amelia turns the knob, lifts the door slightly and pushes the door forward. As she steps through the her strength holding up the door relaxes slightly and she drops it. She pushes the door a little to close it and it makes a loud, Screech sound.

She cringes at the sound and picks up the door and pushes it again.

She enters into a her living rom that is decorated with family photos and younger photos of herself, along with long ago memories of her mother and father before Amelia was born, along with some photos of Amelia's, older brother.

Amelia's mother peeks out from behind the wall that leads into the kitchen.

She has a face that's wrinkled. Her skin is the same color as Amelia, and she's wearing glasses as well, not big like Amelia's, but still round.

Her own doesn't have any cracks though and Amelia has two different cracks, on the same lens.

She fully pulls her body out from behind the wall. She short, just a tad bit shorter than Amelia and Amelia is five foot five. Her mother's hair is greying and pulling slightly over her head to block just a small amount of her vision slightly.

Dame: "Amelia... My girl come and give me a hug my girl."

Her voice scratchy as she calls for her daughter.

Amelia walks over to her and opens her hands, and winces as she does so. Dame steps back and looks at Amelia.

Dame: "Oh my goodness. Are you on your period honey?"

Amelia doesn't have any other excuse for the pain so she reluctantly nods.

Amelia: "Yeah mom... I had my period today and I just figure it out on the way home... Or well when I went to the restroom."

Dame looks at her with a pitiful face.

Dame: "Do you have pads for your blood?"

Amelia nods. Now slightly flushed and embarrassed.

Amelia: "Yes mom... I have some pads..."

Her voice drops as she get even more red.

She puts her hands to her sides and begins to walk away.

Dame: "Where you going?"

Amelia: "I'm heading to the restroom."

Amelia walks past many photos that her mother has decorated the living room with. Amelia's first school photo. She was wearing rainbow clip on her hair and a shirt that said "Life Is Beautiful!", with animals jumping out from behind the words, hippos, lions, donkeys, giraffes. Any animal that could be thought of in a minute was put on the shirt.

Another photo of Amelia's older brother, the photo looks aged, but shows the photo of her brother pretty well. A white photo of her brother that smile, his teeth shining bright, hair blonde and shining and wearing a tux shirt, that during his first school photo he really loved.

Amelia got past the photo and walked into a hallway that led to four doors, but Amelia walked into the first door on the left. As she entered, she flipped a switch on the left side of her body, that turned on a light for her to see clearly.

She shut the door and locked it behind her.

Amelia saw a tidy bathroom that had everything in it's own place.

An open cabinet area on the floor, where you could see where everything is at. Toilet paper just at the top shelf, along with baby wipes and power and other showering needs under it.

Amelia walks toward the mirror that is just at the entrance of the bathroom. Just below the mirror is the sink, both of them pristine, as if they are cleaned every second of the day. Amelia reaches into her pocket, feels the cigarette pack, then moves her hand deeper and fishes out her phone and puts it into onto the sink.

Amelia looks into the mirror and smile. Like she has to practice it.

Then she moves back and feels her back.

Pain.

She moves her hand from her back to her stomach.

Pain.

She stretches her arms to open wide.

Pain.

She reaches to the bottom of her shirt and pulls it over her head then off her body. Leaving her in front of the mirror with only her bra on, and she sees bruises.

Many different colors, different areas. Before Salem went to the Pool area, She was in the pools getting beat up for fifteen minutes.

Amelia runs her hand from her neck area down to her stomach as she feels the different varieties of the pain on her body, she winces, groans, holds back tears.

Her body is many different colors of pained. Her midsection purpled.

She looks to be on the verge of tears.

Ding!

Amelia phone on the sink goes off.

Burning Man.

It's Salem.

Amelia unlocks the phone to see what it is that he texted her about.

(text) Salem: "Amelia. I'm sorry that i'm the one that made you comfort me instead. I'll try next time to help you from the bullies."

Amelia smiles at the fact that she'll have a friend that will help her. No ones ever tried before.

Amelia texts back.

(text) Amelia: "Thank you Salem! That means a lot to me!"

(text) Salem: "Your Welcome Amelia. I hope that I can truly help out better than today."

Amelia smile, then turns her phone over.

She take off her glasses then begins to get ready for her shower.
