The first thing Kaelis did after surviving literal poisoning was become even more insufferable.
Which honestly should've been impressive.
Elara sat on the edge of the bed glaring at him while Madame Tilda folded the last of her dresses into a chest. The Queen's quarters looked half emptied already and it only annoyed her more.
"I said no," Elara repeated for probably the fifteenth time that morning.
Kaelis stood near the windows with his arms crossed, looking entirely too calm for someone who had nearly died two days ago.
"And I said you're moving."
"I survived perfectly fine before."
"You nearly died."
"That was one time."
Kaelis' gaze slowly shifted toward her.
"One time is enough."
The room went silent for a moment.
Elara hated when he did that. When he said things so calmly that she couldn't even properly fight back. It was manipulative honestly. Evil king behavior. Sick in the head.
