Jessica had obviously already heard Emily talk about this matter; Emily had even asked her to persuade Cain again.
Now, seeing Cain's expression, Jessica could only frown. She sighed, lowered her voice, and said, "Saphen asked me to pass on a message to you—he doesn't want you to go looking for him."
Hearing this, Cain stared at Jessica in shock. In the end, he let out a soft laugh and said quietly, "Don't lie to me, Mom."
Jessica said softly, "I think you'll understand for yourself why Saphen is like this. Stop controlling him, Cain."
Cain roared, "We're best friends!"
"Is there any friend who behaves the way you do, Cain?" Jessica knew she could only say this much. If Cain was willing to listen, he would know what to do; for a long time now, Cain had stopped listening to them.
She turned around, preparing to leave, but at that moment, Cain's somewhat strained voice suddenly rang out: "I like Saphen. I love Saphen."
