Chapter 39 - Battle War North 9

At the magnificent waterfall, the battle between the God of Death and the God of Happiness seemed destined for a protracted, bloody fight. The God of Death, in a frenzy, wielded his scythe, unleashing all his millennia of resentment in each blow. Yet, all the God of Happiness did was stand still.

He gently exhaled, then slowly turned, his eyes filled with enlightened glory directed towards his opponent. He merely glanced at him.

"BOOM!"

An invisible shockwave, carrying the principle of "Absolute Peace," swept through. In an instant, the entire complex spiritual life form structure and the Darkness Mana within the God of Death's body were forcibly altered, reshaping into a state of complete stillness. The desperate resentment vanished in a flash. The God of Death's eyes widened, his scythe slipped from his hand, and his body collapsed, unconscious on the spot.

To put it bluntly, the difference in skill between the two was completely overwhelming. From the beginning of the battle until now, the God of Happiness had only been yielding, trying to use words to win them over, never actually taking action. Once he got serious, a High God of the Dark Side only needed a glance to subdue him.

He advanced, dragging the God of Death with one hand, slowly flying back to the main northern front line. There, he encountered a scene of devastation: the God of Fighters and the God of Fantasy lay gasping for breath in a pool of divine blood after their mutual destruction. Without hesitation, the God of Happiness stepped forward, extending his arms to release two streams of warm Golden Mana to activate his healing power, mending the gaping wounds of both.

"Ugh!"

As soon as the wound in his chest closed, the God of Fantasy immediately sprang to his feet. His eyes were bloodshot, and he roughly pushed away the God of Happiness's hand, roaring angrily, "Get out! I don't need your pity! Don't use that deceptive light to bestow favors upon me!"

In his extreme rage, the God of Fantasy lost his usual elegance as a dream-weaver. He continuously spewed vulgar words, insulting the God of Happiness and the rotten Divine Realm that had driven him to this point.

The God of Happiness silently endured the outburst. When the God of Fantasy strength had waned, he slowly raised his head, his cold gaze fixed on the heart of his opponent: "Have you finished your insults? But have you ever considered that not everyone in this Divine Realm is like those who harmed you? You are instigating a meaningless war, dragging tens of thousands of lives into a bloody massacre... all for the sake of revenge for someone else?"

The words of the God of Happiness were like an arrow tearing through space, striking directly at the heart of the God of Illusion. The memory of the God of Time—his forgotten Friend —was the fatal wound he had always concealed beneath a veil of hatred.

"Shut up! What do you know?!" the God of Illusion trembled, shouting in panic.

At this moment, the God of Happiness also lost his composure. He roared, his voice shaking the northern clouds: "I don't care what terrible things you've gone through in the past, and I don't want to know! But just for your own revenge, you selfishly dragged a group of people with the same ideals to destroy the God Realm! You stand here claiming to be seeking justice, but have you ever thought about the young gods, the innocent beings throughout the four corners of the earth who have nothing to do with your affairs? They too will be implicated, slaughtered because of your selfish rage?!" Amidst the raging snowstorm, a terrifying silence suddenly fell. The God of Fantasy stood rooted to the spot, his lips trembling, unable to utter a single word of rebuttal. The God of Happiness's words, like a mirror reflecting the cruelty and selfishness of his revenge plan, left the creator of countless grand illusions utterly speechless in the face of reality.
