Chapter 31 - Battle War North 3

The biting frost of the North could not extinguish the flames of hatred burning in the heart of the "God of Death." Watching the God of Happiness stand there preaching peace and compassion, the darkest, most humiliating memories of his life were once again stirred up.

He should have had a secure place in the eternal prosperity of the Divine Realm. He was born a god of the South, bathed in light. Yet, cruel fate bestowed upon him a brutal destiny: the power to take life and a monstrous, thorny, and dark original form ("True Form"). Because of this difference, the noble gods of the South set empty standards to discriminate against and isolate him. They viewed him as a stain, a monstrous defect of creation.

To be able to step out into the world, to see the world like other gods, he had to swallow his resentment, distorting himself to create a simulated appearance ("Avatar") that looked normal. However, even with his disguise, the innate deadly power flowing through his blood was undeniable. The fear and disgust of the Southern gods drove him to the brink, falsely accusing him and banishing him to the filthy land of the "Dark Side."

Returning to the present, the God of Death tightened his grip on his scythe, the surrounding ribbons shattering under the pressure of his hatred. He pointed his weapon directly at the God of Happiness, roaring bitterly:

"What do you understand?! This world is full of hypocrites! They abandoned me, they don't acknowledge my existence! I was banished to this 'Dark Side' precisely because of their selfishness and corruption!"

Facing that soul-shattering rage, the God of Happiness did not flinch. His eyes still filled with understanding, he slowly replied:

"It's enough that you acknowledge your own worth; who else needs to acknowledge your worth? Although I left the Divine Realm long ago and don't know what the 'Dark Side' you're talking about is... But you are the master of yourself; why let others judge and determine your worth?"

Hearing the God of Happiness's philosophical reply, a god standing next to the God of Fighters on the opposite side burst into laughter, a mocking laugh at the naivety of the one who had abandoned glory.

However, for the God of Death, the God of Happiness's words not only failed to soothe him, but instead were like pouring oil on a fire. They negated all the suffering and injustice he had endured throughout countless ages.

"Shut up! You think it's easy to speak from your high position!"

Instead of remaining calm, the God of Death completely lost control. He roared, his entire body erupting with dense Darkness Mana, transforming into a gigantic phantom that lunged straight at the God of Happiness, wielding his scythe of death to cleave his opponent in two in a life-or-death battle.

Seeing his comrade in danger, the Northern God of Fighters clenched his fists, intending to rush out to help the God of Happiness block that frenzied attack. However, just as he took a step, a cold smile stopped him.

"Your opponent is me," said the God of Fantasy.

With power surpassing both Good and Evil, the God of Fantasy flicked his finger. Immediately, a massive, illusory barrier, twisting space-time, was erected, completely trapping the God of Fighters in an isolated simulated space, cutting him off from the battlefield in utter helplessness. The one-on-one battle between Death and Happiness officially erupted amidst the gray winter sky.
