His eyes widened at the touch of his beloved woman's soft hand amidst his anxiety. He turned his head for a moment, gazing at her pitiful face. Instantly, his heart fluttered, as thanks to her presence, his mood improved, though he remained angry with Larissa. This made it difficult for him to hate Carabella, as she genuinely cared for him, but hadn't realized it until now.
"Jeff, are you okay?"
His head nodded. "I'm fine, actually."
"If you need a friend, you can talk to me now."
"So this is the reason why you suddenly came to me?"
Carabella nodded shyly. "Actually, I was worried about you. You suddenly wanted some fresh air. You're not usually like this."
A sweet smile spread across his handsome face. He still had his pinky finger intertwined with the one of his beloved. "I admit you know me best, Ella. If you don't know me, why are you chasing me?"
